"Okay follow me." Jimmy took my hand and lead me to a table with 6 red solo cups on either side.
" We are going to play the best game in the world." he smiled and motioned for me to stand at the other end of the table.
" And that would be?" I bit my lip, looking at the beer filled cups.
" FLIP CUP!" Jimmy yelled. after he went over the instructions he asked for the timer.
" Ready? GO!" Jimmy downed his first beer almost instantly. I tried to chug mine but I couldn't. Jimmy had 1 cup flipped over as I tried to flip my first one. he chugged his next beer without batting an eye, I on the other hand had trouble downing my 2nd one.
" C'mon Rach!" he giggled, starting his third cup. I laughed as my 2nd cup landed upright.
"It's on Fallon." I grinned, easily downing my third beer. my head was already feeling fuzzy.
Jimmy chuckled as he finished his fourth cup, having trouble flipping it. by now I was caught up with him. we raced on our fifth but he got it flipped before me. once mine landed in the brim, I gulped down my last cup, now racing Jimmy for the winners position.
" YESS!" I yelled, my cup landing on the top first. I threw my hands in the air and giggled.
" Wow!" Jimmy smiled and pulled me into a hug which I returned.
" See y'all tomorrow!" he waved to the camera and lead me off stage.
He helped me back to the office. after 6 beers, I was tipsy. Jimmy had one arm around my waist as he helped me into my chair.
" You're a lightweight, huh?" he chuckled, leaning back in his chair. I smiled and bit my lip. our eyes made contact and I started giggling, blushing, and hiccuping at the same time. a low chuckle echoed around me.
" Yeahhh..." I spun around in my chair. I saw him stand up and make his way towards me as I continued to spin. he grabbed the armrest, stopping my spinning.
He pulled my chair really close and put his face close to mine. he studied me. he tended to do that a lot. I giggled and covered my mouth. a small smile etched it's way across his lips.
"What?" he looked into my eyes. I got lost in the dark brown beautifulness and just sat there staring into his eyes. they were beautiful. I sucked in a breath as he leaned closer, his mouth brushing my ear as he talked.
" You're gorgeous." his lips grazed my earlobe, sending goosebumps to rise all over my body.i could feel his smile. I sat still and straight, pushing myself into the seat.
" Th- thanks..." I gulped and looked at my lap. he placed his left hand on the back of the chair next to my head and the other on the arm rest, slowly stroking my arm with his thumb. I gasped silently, not sure of how I felt about this. he chuckled into my ear, lightly touching his lips to the skin right below it. I turned my head, basically pleading for more. I needed him. i'd never seen him in this way before.
I tilted my head up, opening my mouth slightly. I began to tremble. nervousness shook my body. I felt a soft yet strong hand grip my shoulder.
" A- are you d- drunk?" I breathed, pushing my chest out wards, causing us to be closer.
" I can hold my liquor." he smirked. he turned and slowly started walking away, his finger brushing down the length of my arm. he walked out and shut the door, leaving me confused.
••••••••••••••
I sat at my desk the next day, writing in appointments and deadlines on multiple papers. I tapped my pencil furiously as I read the next section of the packet of papers. a heavy sigh escaped my mouth.
I sat up and rubbed my eyes. it was 8:45pm, and I was working overtime. I stood up and stretched, popping my back. I slipped my heels off and walked a lap around the room then sat back at my desk.
I heard the door open and glanced behind me to see Jimmy standing there.
"Mr. Fallon, need anything?" I smiled and turned in my chair.
" Just for you to stop calling me that.... Mr. Fallon is my dad... call me Jimmy." he smiled and closed the door behind him.
" As you wish... Mr. Fallon." I returned to my paperwork. I heard him walk up behind me. he placed a hand on the back of my chair.
" You should go home.... you've worked nearly 3 hours of overtime..." I could hear the concern in his voice.
" I'm fine, sir." I stated, signing a page then turning it.
" Rachel." he lightly tugged on my chair so I turned to face him.
" Sir?"
" You need rest." he looked into my eyes.
" I don't have a cab..." I blushed and tried to turn around.
" I'll take you!" he smiled and took my hand, helping me up.
He walked me out of the office and into the elevator. we stood I the elevator in a comfortable silence. at the main floor, we walked out of the building and I followed him to his truck. he walked around and opened the door for me.
He got in and turned the key. we started driving and listening to music.
" So where to?" he kept his eyes on the road.
" 25th and 10th." I sat back in the seat, finally able to relax.
We pulled up in front of my apartment complex and he turned off the truck.
" I'll walk you to your room." he smiled and helped me out. we made our way into the lobby and took the stairs to my apartment.
" Goodnight Mr. Fallon." I smiled, standing in the doorway. he stood there silent, like he had something on his mind.
" You okay, sir?" I put a hand on his shoulder and he looked up at me.
" Do you remember yesterday? after the show?" he bit his lip and started to blush.
" Yea... I do...." my face burned bright red as I studied my feet.
" I just want you to know that... I am so sorry.... it was wrong of me to act that way towards you." he chewed on his lip harder and rocked on his heels.
" It's okay, sir. you don't have to apologize." I smiled and looked at my shoes.
" I do..." he sounded sad.
" Would you like to... Come in?" I stepped to the side, allowing entrance. he smiled slightly and nodded, making his way inside.
