My eyes fluttered open. I turned over and looked up at Jimmy." Hey babe I packed our bags. Gonna have to leave in like an hour." He kissed my forehead and walked out of my room. I sat up placed my feet on the floor.
"Here we go." I mumbled and stood up.

We arrived at the airport at 5:00 am and made it through security and getting our ticket in an hour and 20 minutes.
" Flight 397 to DFW departing in an hour."
I sighed and linked fingers with Jimmy his thumb grazed the back of my hand and he pulled a piece of loose hair out of my face.
" Need anything?" he bit his lip and looked at me. I nodded.
" I could use a coffee..." I sighed and rubbed my free hand on my sweatpants out of nervousness. he let go of my hand and stood up. I glanced up and saw him lean forward. he lightly kissed my temple and jogged over to the small Starbucks shop. I glanced down at my phone when I felt it vibrate. it lit up and I had a text message.
" I love you baby. Ryans okay for now.... please don't worry more than you have to."
I took in a deep breath and replied to it. I kept it simple.
" Love you too. thanks and I'm about to board."
I sighed and stuffed it back into my pocket. I popped my fingers and ran my thumb up the scar on my arm. I glanced up to see Jimmy walking back, two coffee cups in hand. he plopped down in the hard plastic seat next to me and handed me my drink. I wrapped my fingers around the cup and zoned out. I felt Jimmy starting to rub my back. I snapped back in and looked up at him.
" Thank you." I gave him a sad smile and kissed his cheek. " you're the best." I laid my head on his shoulder and waited for group 1 to be called.
" I got you a salted ice caramel... That what you like right?" he rested his chin on the top of my head. I took a savory sip of the drink and nodded.
" Perfect." I gulped down the rest and the lady at the kiosk called group one.
" Let's go babe." Jimmy helped me up and pecked my lips. We stood up and made our way to the line. We got our tickets checked and walked into the airplane, a gust of cold wind blasting us in the face. I took the window seat and Jimmy slowly sat down best to me. I felt his arm wrap around my shoulders and I smiled over at him. he had a goofy grin on his face and he leaned forward.
" So what's the deal with airplane food?" he whispered in my ear. I lightly shoved him and he giggled.
" You're retarded." I stuck my tongue out at him.
" I plead guilty." he whispered into my neck. I bit my lip and scrunched his soft hair with my right hand.
" Good." I buckled my seatbelt and pulled my phone out. I shot a text to my mom.
' About to take off. love you.'
I flipped on airplane mode and plugged in my headphones. I started quietly singing Hey Brother.
Hey brother.
There's an endless road to rediscover.
Hey sister.
Know the water's sweet, but blood is thicker.
Oohh and if the sky comes falling down for you, there's nothin in the world I wouldn't do.
Bum bum buuumm
And if I fall from home, oh brother I will hear you call.
I looked up to see Jimmy smiling at me, singing along. I bit my lip and laid my head on his shoulder. I drifted off to sleep.
•••••••••••••••••••••
I woke up with a jolt, Jimmy holding my hand. I frantically pulled my earbuds out and looked at him.
" It's just turbulence, baby." he kissed my forehead.
'Baby... hmm. I like that.'
" Landing in Dallas right now." I felt his fingers lightly rubbing the back of my head, pulling the knots out. I smiled up at him. " I got you a Dr. Pepper." he handed me a can and smiled.
" Thank you good sir." I slightly bowed forward in my seat. Jimmy took this chance to put his hand on my lower back and begin poking my ribs. I held in a snicker.
" Jimmy Jimmy no. stop!" I hissed through clenched teeth, trying to shove his hands away. He pulled his hands away and crossed his arms, pouting.
" You're no fun."
"Not on a silent plane. If you embarrass me I swear i will murder you where you stand." I said, a smile dancing on my lips.
" See when you women do Jedi mind tricks like that we men don't know what to do!" Jimmy sighed, placing a hand on his chest." you're threatening me while smiling. what if I was deaf. then I would think you were being nice. but if I was blind I would run like I was on fire. but noooo! you gotta be like that." he flailed his arms about.
" Calm down you're causing a scene." I kissed his nose and sat back in my seat as the plane landed.
"Thank you for flying American Airlines." the pilot said over the speaker as we filed out of the plane. I placed one hand on my aching back. I felt Jimmy lightly rub my lower back as we walked out. I smiled to myself and slowed down, leaning into his touch a bit. I pulled my phone out and texted my mom.
•••••••••••••••
" Whomp there it went!" Jimmy jogged through the crowd around the baggage claim and disappeared in the mass of people. He burst through at the other end, holding my suitcase very victoriously. I giggled and took it from him.
" Thank you babe." I kissed his cheek. he turned towards me and put his hands behind his back, leaning forward. he puckered his lips and closed his eyes. he looked so childish. I giggled and planted a soft kiss on his lips and we made our way towards the gate. I stepped through and immediately found my mother.
" RACH!" she called, waving. I ran up to her and pulled her into a hug. I pulled away and saw my mom glance behind me. her face went pale and she stared back at me.
" You're with-"
" Oh yea. mom this is Jimmy, Jimmy mom." i motioned between them, feeling my cheeks heat up.
" I know good damny well who this is." she mumbled as Jimmy pulled her into a hug.
" Sorry I'm a hugger." he ran his fingers through his hair and bit his lip, blushing.
" Well hell I'm a hugger too." my mom gasped as she stared at us.
" Well yea haven't you been watching the show lately?" I laughed nervously.
" No. I've been busy." she squinted her eyes at us. I felt Jimmy's arm loop around my waist and he pulled me into the side of him.
" Well it's an honor to go out with your lovely daughter." he smiled down at me. I blushed and looked at my mom. he smiled and nodded.
" I'll take that as approval." I mumbled into his shoulder." welcome to the family."
