Luke's P.O.V

I walked into school and found Calum and Ash waiting at my locker

"Hey boys"

"Hey Luke" they said in unison

"Okay, you're doing it on purpose now and it's creepy"

They smiled at me and then began to talk about the concert they ditched school for yesterday, at that moment I noticed Michael walk pass,

"Hey Michael" I called

He looked up and nodded at me

"You know Michael?" Calum asked

"Yeah, met him yesterday when you ditched me"

Calum smiled

"Good for you, he could use some friends, and considering he won't hang out with me anymore, I'm glad you're speaking to him"

-

I slowly dragged myself through the day, then groaned when I got dragged into tutoring some kid.

Soon the day was over and I headed straight to the library, I sat down and sent a quick text to my mum telling her I would be late.

I heard the chair opposite move and I looked up

"Michael? I'm tutoring you?"

He simply shrugged

"Okay, what parts of English are you doing?" I asked flipping the book round so he could point out the topic he was learning, Romeo and Juliet, great, I hate that stuff

"Ah I how fun" I mumbled

He simply stare at me

"Well okay then, let's get to work"

Half an hour in Michael was literally banging his head on the table over the understanding over the old English words, earning us glares from around the room

"Do you want to fail?" I asked

He looked up at me then grabbed a piece of paper and wrote something quickly then returned the paper to me

Not like there's anybody who actually cares if I fail

"Do you care?"

He shrugged

"Shrugging is not an answer, stop shrugging, okay let's take a break, do you want pizza? There's a pizza place down the road"

Michael nodded his head eagerly

"Let's go" I said jumping up and grabbing my stuff

We were seated straight away and I smiled as Michael grabbed the menu eagerly

"What do you want?" I asked as the waitress came back

He turned the menu to me and repeatedly pointed to a meat feast pizza

I smiled, he obviously loved pizza

"One meat feast and one pepperoni"

The waitress smiled "sure thing cutie"

I rolled my eyes as she strutted off.

Ten minutes later she was back "so babe, can I get your number?"

"Nope, now let me eat"

"Aww c'mon, here's mine" she smiled handing me a piece of paper, which I simply balled up and threw

"Sorry, I don't bat for that team, honey"

She raised her eyebrow "what?"

"I'm not into the female gender"

"Oh, is this your boyfriend?" She asked gesturing to Michael

"No, he's a... he's a friend"

She nodded and walked off

Michael looked up from his pizza, he grabbed his little notebook and wrote one word

Friend?

"Yes, friend, problem"

He shocked his head and continued to eat, within minutes he had finished the plate of pizza

"So, you like pizza?" I smiled

Michael nodded

I smiled and pushed my plate towards him

"I'm not gonna eat it all, have some"

Michael raised an eyebrow

"Eat it" I smiled

He nodded and happily began eating.

Once again he was done in minutes

"I have to head home" I mumbled "I'll walk you home"

Michael shook his head

"I'm walking you home"

He rolled his eyes

"Can I have your number?" I asked randomly "so we can plan our next tutoring session"

Michael nodded and tapped his number into my phone

-

Half an hour later I had dropped Michael off and was home

"Hey mum" I called

"In the living room" she shouted

I walked in a smiled still plastered on my face

"Hey Ben, hey Jack"

"Hey Luke" the both mumbled, their attention on the TV

"Why are you so happy?" mum smiled

"Oh, I think I made a new friend"

"Ooo tell me about him, is he cute?"

"His name is Michael, and yeah he's cute, he's mute though, and the only thing cheerful about him is his brightly dyed hair or when he eats pizza, he never smiles" I rambled on

"Then make him smile"

"How?"

"I don't know, just be there for him"

I nodded and headed up to my room.
