MILLIES POV
The sky turned different colours as Finn and I watched from the top of the grassy hill. The corners turned to a light pink colour with swatches of orange, the fluffy looking white clouds hovered above, not really looking like they fitted in, but that was okay—the most extraordinary things never fitted in.
I slipped my palm into Finn's soft one, intertwining our fingers. I moved my gaze onto something more beautiful than the sunset. His freckled face, and now purple curly hair stood out as his brown eyes reflected the whole sunset into them. He was truly a God send.
We didn't have the kids today, I didn't have work and he didn't have band practice. So we decided to spend the whole day together. We had gotten ice cream, done a load of fun things and now we were watching the sunset.
Finn turned his head to look at me, my lips curved up into a smile. He gave me a smile back as I lightly rested my head on his shoulder which was soft because of the sweatshirt he was wearing.
"Thank you for today. You truly make me the happiest girl in the world." I informed him.
"You make me the happiest guy in the world." He replied back, I smiled.
Soon, the sky turned completely dark. The only light given to us were the twinkles of the stars. We knew it was time to go when it got dark, even though we didn't have a curfew because we were adults. Even though we were both going to the same place and wouldn't have to say our goodbyes to each other at the end of the day just like we had to when we were teens.
We didn't have to say 'see you tomorrow.' Because we knew that we would see each other the day after, because we were adults now and our relationship was more mature. It wasn't just a teen flick, nor a year fantasy. It was real, real true love.
We got into Finn's Tesla, driving away. A soft melody played on the radio as the car rode along the road. I saw a little pizza place in the distance, called 'Disco Pizza's.' I looked at Finn, making puppy dog eyes just like a child. He looked over at the pizza place, then looked back at me.
"Please." I said, he playfully sighed.
"Okay." He said, pulling into the parking lot.
We got back out of the car, walking into the little pizza place. We didn't eat in though, we ordered a pizza to take home. It had a smell of pepperoni, but I wasn't too keen on pepperoni pizza. I liked Hawaiian better, Finn just called me a weirdo for liking pineapple on pizza.
"You're literally grim! How can you like that stuff?" Finn asked as I brought my Hawaiian pizza to the car.
"You're just boring, who only gets cheese on a pizza? Be adventurous." I said, he playfully rolled his eyes.
"I'd rather be boring than eat a healthy food on an unhealthy one. It just doesn't make sense." He said.
We spent the whole ride home in a huge debate whether pineapple went on pizza. I wasn't giving into my instinct. Pineapple does go on pizza. It had the best taste, it was much better than just plain old cheese.
"Even Gordon Ramsey said that pineapple doesn't go on pizza, so I'm sorry my friend but pineapple does not go on pizza." He said, walking through the front door.
