Chapter 26

(Y/N) P.O.V
Me and Veronica headed to the hospital that night.
"Are you sure we are going to find the files here?"
"Say the kid wants to know about their birth parents, I don't think the Sisters of Quiet Mercy is the first place to go,they would have to give the hospital some kind of record."  I said while talking a couple hair pins out of my hair and started picking the lock.
"Are we going to set off an alarm?" Veronica asked nervously
"Let's hope not" I said "besides it was your idea to come here at night"
"Because I didn't think the nurses would give us the file" I unlocked the door and opened it.

"Then come on" using our phones as flashlights we navigated our way through the hospital until we got to the reception desk.
"They should be in here" I opened one of the cabinets and saw a long line of files. Veronica stood behind me
"What was Alice's maiden name again?"
"Shit!" I closed the cabinet "we didn't ask"
"I'm on it" Veronica whipped out her phone and started texting Betty. While we waited for a reply Veronica said
"Isn't this crazy? I mean Betty and Jughead have a brother"
"Yeah, I just haven't had the time to process"
"Do you think he's the one that's been calling us?" I was about to respond but then Veronica's phone rang
"That's probably Betty" without even bothering to check who it was she accepted the call
"Hello?" I saw her gripping the phone and my eyes widened
"Veronica hang up it's a trap!"
"What do you want?!" Veronica said into the phone
"Veronica we have to get out of here now!"

"You asshole!" Veronica said then put down the phone
"He called the cops" my eyes widened and both of us ran out of the hospital
"Where are we going?"
"We have to loose the police"
"How do we do that?"
"No idea" I said
"(Y/N) we keep going in this direction we are gonna be in the SouthSide." I stopped and smiled
"Veronica your a genius!" I said grabbing her arms

"Thank you but what did I do?"
"The SouthSide, the Serpents will have our back" Veronica scoffed
"Maybe yours but definitely not mine didn't you forget who I am?"
"Your not your dad Veronica, and I'll make sure they know that" Veronica nodded
"So what we lay low on the SouthSide for the night?" I nodded
"Let's go to Jugheads"
"What are we going to tell his family? That we broke into the hospital to find files on Alice and Fp's secret baby?"
"Damn it" I replied then walked around
"(Y/N) this guy is out of our league, he's smarter then us. Anytime we make a move he's 10 steps ahead of us. Tonight proved that"

"No I won't loose, tonight was a clue" Veronica looked at me confused
"Why would he call the police in the first place? Why would he want us arrested? Don't you see Veronica he wants us out of the picture we are on to something!"
"Ok that's great but the question still stands, where do we go?" I sighed and pulled out my phone. I dialled Cheryl's number

"Hello?"
"Hey Cheryl it's (Y/N), listen we need your help"
"We?"
"Me and Veronica, see we did something and now we need somewhere to lay low for the night" while I was talking to Cheryl I saw Veronica texting, probably Betty getting back to us.
"So you came to moi?"
"Please Cheryl, I'll explain it all later"
"All right"
"Thank you" I hung up the phone
"I found us a place"
"Are you really going to tell Cheryl everything?"
"Your right Veronica he's always 10 steps ahead of us, we need someone who is just as devious as he is." Veronica nodded

"What about the whole Cooper-Jones baby?" I smirked
"Who says we have to tell her everything, that secret isn't for us to tell. Now let's go before the cops start patrolling the town." Both of us started walking towards the other side of town
"Do you really think the Serpents would have helped us?"
"Veronica I think the Serpents will help us, we need as much help to outsmart this guy."
"I hope everyone else is alright"
"Well they can't be worse off then we are right now."
