Chapter 31

(Y/N)'s P.O.V
I was putting books in my locker when I saw Kevin walking down the hallway by himself, perfect!
"Hey Kev!" He turned to look at me
"Hey (Y/N)" I closed my locker and ran up to him
"How are you? I feel like we haven't talked in a while" Kevin smiled
"I'm doing good"
"Any juicy news to report?"
"Sadly no, you?"
"That's what I came to talk to you about, this is going to sound crazy but I started to get phone calls from someone, threatening phone calls then Jughead started to get them and now Archie got one."

"Oh my god (Y/N)! Have you tried talking to the police?"
"Kevin would your dad believe the words of teenagers?"
"If it's this serious then yes! I can talk to him for you"
"No thank you trust me your not the first person who suggested going to the police. I want to figure this out on my own"

"(Y/N) this is dangerous"
"I know, which is why I'm coming to you I have an idea of how we can track down the number but...."
"But what?"
"It could get you in trouble with your dad, serious trouble"
"What do you need?"
"To get into the sheriffs station and look through all the phone records in town."
"(Y/N)! Thats-
"Illegal? I'm aware, I understand if you don't want to help." Kevin was quiet I let him think over the situation
"I don't need an answer right away" I said "think it over as much as you need to, like I said I'll understand if you don't want to help." I walked away hoping he would agree to help us.

Jugheads P.O.V
I smiled when I saw (Y/N) walk into class. Thank whoever made the school schedule and allowed us to share English. She sat down next to me
"So I talked to Kevin" she whispered
"And?" I replied just as quiet
"No answer yet, I told him he could think it over it is a lot to ask, not only am I asking him to break the law but his dad is also the sheriff, this is personal. I also may have told him what's going on."

"What?"
"Well I couldn't just ask hey Kevin let's break into the sheriffs office and look at phone records for fun tonight."
"Fair point"
"Have you gotten anymore calls?" He shook his head
"No you?"
"No for once" I paused then thought of everyone else
"What about Betty? Or Veronica or maybe Archie got another one?"
"I'm sure they would tell us" I nodded and relaxed in my seat
"For now just focus on books for one hour let's just pretend everything is fine" I nodded

Jughead reached under the table and gave my hand a squeeze.
"With all of this happening we haven't had much time together."
"I'm grounded, doubt we will be getting any time in soon" I replied
"So let's do something when your released, let's go see a movie." I smiled
"Ok"
"Great" the rest of the class I spent smiling

Me and Jughead where walking down the hall on the way to lunch hands still intertwined when Kevin came running down the stairs
"Woah Kevin where's the fire?" I joked
"I'll do it"
"What?" Jughead asked out of either confusion or shock
"I'll help you" Kevin repeated, my dad will be out tonight and the station closes early on a weekday
"Not much crime going on on a Tuesday night?" Jughead joked
"So I'll meet you guys there tonight?" Kevin asked ignoring Jughead
"Not me" I said

"What?!" Kevin responded "your the only reason why I agreed to do this" I shrugged my shoulders
"Sorry I'm on house arrest this week"
"What happened?"
"I spent the night at Cheryl's and didn't call my parents naturally they freaked out when I came home"
"Wait hold up you were at Cheryl Blossoms house?"
"Long story but you guys are gonna do great good luck tonight. I walked away before either of them could say anything else.

I sat down at our regular table waiting for everyone else to join. I got a text from Jughead moments prior saying sneaky how you covenantally left out the part where you will not be joining us on our illegal heist tonight to Kevin
Must have slipped my mind I responded before slipping my phone back into its pocket.
I could imagine Jughead rolling his eyes from here, I smiled at the thought before seeing Archie and Betty making their way with their lunch tables. Both of them sat down across from me

"Hey guys" I said
"Any luck today?" Archie asked
"Kevin is going to help us just one thing"
"What?" Betty asked
"I won't be there tonight" I said giving them both a guilty face
"What?!" Betty shouted

"Shhhh people are staring" I said
"What do you mean you aren't coming?" Archie asked in a quieter tone
"Grounded" I simply responded
"For what?" Betty asked
"For spending the night at Cheryl's and not calling my parents"
"So you called Jughead but not your mom?" Betty asked
"Yeah" Betty blinked
"Ok I get their point it's still unfair" I said
"So what are we supposed to do? None of us know how to track phone records" Archie responded
"Oh and I do? Archie what do you think of me?"
"I will refrain from answering that question" Archie answered before I could responded both Veronica and Jughead arrived

"Oh V thank god your here (Y/N) just told us she won't be joining is tonight because she forgot to call her parents while you two where at Cheryl's but still called Jughead."
"Should I take that as a compliment?" Jughead responded while I simply shrugged
"Wait so what are we supposed to do?" Veronica asked
"I don't know, didn't think we get this far, Find something that looks like it tracks phone records I don't know." Everyone groaned
"Hey my ideas sound better in theory then in practice it's not like I have a history of doing this kind of thing."
"I don't believe that" Archie said he got a grape thrown at him for that.
