Amaris POV
I was currently walking in the hallway with my friend Monica when Josh girlfriend walked passed us.
Monica started laughing so I start laughing with her.
"Girl what's funny?" I said looking at her
"Girl you ain't heard" she said still laughing
"No what I miss man" I said
"that girl that just walked passed us cheated on Josh" She said
"Hold uppppp, you lying!" I said
"On god I'm not" She said
"Lord. Well I'm not telling him nothing that's nun of my business, he not gone believe me anyways" I said walking into my class.
The whole time that I was in class it was on my mind. I knew he didn't know because I had just seen them walking together laughing and talking like nothing happened.
I know when he do find out he's going to be heartbroken, this the second time something like this has happened since me and him been friends.
No matter how much he hurt me I don't wanna see him hurt at all, because at the end of the day I'm the one that's gone have to listen to him vent , and have to hold him when he cry. Not the person that broke his heart or hurt him.
We didn't do nothing in class today so I sat there with my headphones in listening to sad music because my heart hurt for Josh.
The bell rung to go to the next class, I had that class with josh. I had to fix my energy and my face so he wouldn't notice anything is wrong with me, but I failed.
I was sitting at my seat when he came up to me.
"What's wrong with you Maris" he said sitting on my desk
"Nothing" I said playing with my fingers.
"Something is wrong, tell me man" he said grabbing my hands.
"Ain't nothing wrong" I said rolling my eyes.
"Man you always do this" he said getting up and walking to his seat.
My bro bro came and sat down beside me.
"Gone and tell yo bro bro what's wrong" he said
"Let's say Ayana boyfriend was cheating on her and you knew , would you tell her" I said looking Miles in his eyes
"Yeah , i wouldn't want my bestfriend out here looking stupid" he said
"But what if you know she would say you lying and just trying to ruin what they got going on because you like her" I said
"Then I'll just let her think that" he said shrugging
I shook my head and started doing my work.
I finished my work early and put my head down and went to sleep.
*a hour and a half later*
I was in my science class talking to Alayna about the situation.
"I don't wanna tell him because i know he not gone believe me" I said
"Well I'm going to tell him because he deserves to know" she said
"I know he gone be heart broken" I said cleaning up my station because the bell was about to rings
I walked into my class and sat in my seat next to Josh.
"Wassuppp girllll" josh came in smiling making me shake my head because I knew Alayna was finna come in here and tell him and he wouldn't no longer be smiling.
"Bruh you been acting like this all day, what's wrong man" he said sitting in his seat
I looked at Alayna and she looked at me and shook her head.
"You about to tell him ?" I asked her
"Tell me what" he said looking between me and her
"Yeah. Ion know how to say it that" she said.
"Miles know, let him do it" i said
"I know what" he said sitting down beside Alayna
"What i asked you earlier" I said looking at him
"Oh that was about him" he said looking confused
"Yeah." I said
"Come here bro" miles said to josh.
Josh went and sat by him and miles whispered in his ear so everybody wouldn't be in his business.
"She is ? How you know?" He said looking directly at me.
"Someone came up to me and told me" I said looking him in his eyes
"Man y'all lying. She can't be" he said my head shot up and looked him in his eyes once again, this time his face was twitching. I knew exactly what that meant. Josh face only twitch when he nervous or if he was really mad.
"See this why I didn't want to tell you, i knew this what you was gone say" i said rolling my eyes
"Come on let's go outside" Alayna said to him. They got up and she turned to look at me.
"Come on Amaris" she said
I got up and walked behind them, i was last to get out there i heard Alayna talking.
"Amaris didn't wanna tell you because she knew you would say we was lying" she said
"It ain't that i think y'all lying, i just don't believe she would do me like that" he said shaking his head.
I was leaned up against the door just looking at him. He looked at me and we locked eyes for a quick second and I could see the tears building up.
"If you about to cry let me go cause you gone make me cry" I said
"Right" Alayna agreed with me
"Man im not about to cry" he said
"It look like it" I said still looking at him
"I don't wanna see you cry Josh" I said.
"I'm not about to cry Amaris!" He said giving me a look.
I just walked back into the class and sat in my seat and sighed.
"What happened" Miles asked
"He don't think we lying he just don't believe she would do that to him" I said
"He straight?" He asked
"It look like he about to cry, but he said he wasn't" i said.
Alayna walked back in but josh wasn't with her.
"Where he at?" I said looking out the door
"He standing out there. He said he'll be in soon" she said sitting down.
A couple minutes later Josh came and sat in his seat and kept Putting his thumb up against his mouth and blowing his breath. I reached over and pulled his hand down. So that made him start bouncing his leg up and down.
"Calm down"I whispered and put my hand on his leg. He mugged me for a second then started smiling, making me smile.
"You okay ?" I asked
"Yeah i wanna go to her class and beat her ass tho but imma be calm" he said.
"Don't do nothing in school Josh" I said.
"I ain't , imma wait till we get home i might not even text her" he said
"Text her and make sure it's true" i said
"I am. Ion wanna talk about it nomore" he said
"Okay what you wanna talk about" I said
"I want things between us to go back to how they were doing the summer time" he said
"We will see" i said.
"Mmhmm" he said looking me in my eyes.
Right then the teacher started teaching the class. I was so happy cause he was looking at me funny.
