CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

HALA'S P.O.V

The next morning the doctor said I was able to go home. I finished getting dressed out of that horrible gown and collected all of my stuff. I walked out of the room, seeing Sean and Chris waiting for me by the front desk. As I made my way over to them I smiled at Sean, not even bothering to make eye contact with Chris.

"Hello beautiful." Sean greeted as he gave me a kiss on the forehead.

I blushed and looked down. "Hey."

"So I've signed all the release papers and you're able to leave now." He explained.

I smiled. "Thank you, but where are we gonna go now?"

He chuckled. "Home, we gotta let your parents know you're okay."

"Right." I nodded and walked off towards the exit, both Sean and Chris following behind.

We finally reached the driveway of my house. I smiled at the view of my home, I couldn't wait to go inside. I unbuckled the seat belt and opened up the door. As I got out I looked at Sean, seeing he hadn't moved from the seat.

"Aren't you coming in?" I asked. He got out of the car and went over to me.

"No, you need time alone with your parents." He smiled. "It's been 3 months you know."

"Right..."

He laughed and cupped my face in his hands. "I'll see you tomorrow, okay." He leaned in and gently kissed my lips. I pulled away and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"When are we leaving for the airport tomorrow?" I asked.

Sean tensed up. I pulled away and looked at him seriously. "So..?"

He shook his head. "Hala, no. You can't go I'm sorry."

I rolled my eyes. "You're kidding right? You can't honestly just tell me that when you know this is clearly dangerous for you."

"And YOU." He said, emphasizing 'you'.

"I can take care of myself Sean."

"And look where that got you!"

I raised my eyebrow. "Well excuse me, sorry for trying to protect myself."

Sean sighed and looked down. "Hala-" I raised my hand up and stopped him.

"Sean. I'm coming with you whether you like it or not." I said as I made my way up to my porch, without looking back at him. I heard him sigh and the car door shut and just like that he drove away.

I sighed and shook my head. I looked up towards the door, excitement washing over me as I rang the doorbell. The door opened, revealing my tired but beautiful mother. Once her eyes layed on me, they lit up almost instantly as her lips grew into a big smile.

"Hala?!" She said as she smiled even more.

I smiled. "Hi mom." She pulled me into a tight hug.

"Oh my god you're okay." She said. "When did you get out...When did you even wake up?!"

I pulled back and saw how she became to tear up. "Mom please don't cry." I said as I began to tear up.

She laughed a little. "I'm sorry, I'm just so happy you're okay." I smiled and pulled her into another hug.

"Come on, let's go inside and we'll talk." I said as we both made our way inside.

She took me into the kitchen and right away started to make tea. She then turned around and faced me, waiting for me to start talking.

"Well...there's not much to say. I woke up last night, the doctors ran a bunch of test and they came back fine so they released me this morning. They told me to take it slow for a bit but I should be okay. And Sean came and picked me up, and dropped me off."

She once again came over and hugged me. I laughed and hugged back once more, but then frowned when I remembered New York.

"Mom?"

She pulled back. "Yeah?

I sat down and took a deep breath. "I have to tell you something."

She nodded as she gave me my tea. I wrapped my hand around the warm cup as I looked up to my mother's concerned face.

"I'm going to New York tomorrow." I said as I looked down at the tea.

"What?!" She said in shock. "Hala you just came out of-"

I cut her off. "I know, but this is important." She furrowed her eyebrows.

"And what is so important that you need to go all the way to New York?"

I sighed and got up, taking her hands in mine. "Mom, you need to trust me. I will tell you some other time but this is very important. I will be safe, Sean will be looking after me. I promise you everything will be fine and if it makes you feel better I won't be driving." I smiled at her reassuringly. "You can trust me."

She looked down. "But you just got back...I just got my baby girl back."

"I know mom and you'll get her back very soon. I will not be gone for long I promise."

She sighed. "Alright." I smiled and pulled her into a big hug.

"Thank you." I whispered.
