POV: Alyssa Eucliffe

Its been about 3 years since I joined the guild and life seems to have a taken a great turn since then. I still think about mother everyday, but Fairy Tail has done a lot to keep my mind off of that day. In a few days we'll be having a tournament to pick the top 3 wizards and wizard pairs. I've been really nervous since I signed up for the team division with Aryan, but I'm starting to warm up to the idea.

As I'm walking I arrive at the stadium where the tournament is going to be held. I was supposed to meet Aryan here to train, but he is no where in sight. I reach in my pocket to find my phone to call him. “Where are you?”

“Almost there, I'm about 5 minutes away. Ill see you soon.” He hangs up the phone. So I have about 5 minutes to kill. Hmm. I sit in the stadium to watch the other teams train while Aryan gets over here. My heart begins beating furiously as I'm thinking of how to beat all of these pairs. How can I beat Erza and Mirajane? Can anyone beat Lion? Besides that, does anyone even know what kind of magic he uses? And who is he paired with?

I turn my head to watch Cana and Samantha training with each other in the far right corner of the stadium. Bolts of thunder dazzle the skies, but, its unnatural. It's not just thunder, there’s something about it. My eyes latch onto the sight of Lion with another guild member. I think his name is Nicholas, but I'm not too sure; he is rather quiet in the guild. I want to watch them train, but Aryan arrives at the same time they do.

I leap from the first set of risers in the stands and walk to greet him. “So what do you wanna work on?”

“Lets try some combination attacks.”

“On what?” I feel my eyebrow raise in suspicion of his suggestion. “We have no target”

He draws an 'X' on the ground with his finger. “There”

I let out a sigh and smile “Fine” Aryan and I attempt several combination moves but they were never balance enough. Sometimes my light would overtake the water and melt the ice, or his Ice never mixed with my light, making the entire attack his doing. But at the end of training, as frustration coursed through my veins I threw a loose ball of light in the air. Aryan, never getting nearly as annoyed as I was, skewed the ball with a spear of ice. At first it shattered, it looked like another failed attempt, but then rainbow ice crystals rained down around the entire stadium. It wasn't an attack, and we didn't hit our target, but it sure would lead us somewhere with our combination attack.

We leave the stadium marking the rainbow rain as an appropriate checkpoint, but with the tournament only a day away, I question if we should've stayed or not. We part ways and while he goes to his home, I make my way back to the Fairy Tail dormitories.

Ow! Something hits me in the back of the head. I spin around to find a beed on the sidewalk right behind me, and as I lift my head, another beed hits me on the forehead. My eyes focus in on a person about 50 ft away, Asuka. “Watch it Alyssa!” The only way to describe the look on Alyssa's face is pure disgust.

“Your the one who can't aim!” Alyssa yells the words that would enrage any gunslinger. Despite the distance that divided the two, the tension between them grew fierce, and the air grew thick and heavy. Asuka raised her gun to her face as if locking onto Alyssa and in turn, Alyssa got into battle ready form. Her hands extended to the front of her body at 1:00 and 8:00. The magical energy in her body began to flow to her hands as they lit up. A pseudo Regulus.

Asuka shot another beed toward Alyssa aiming for her forehead, but with reflexes of a supernatural being, her hands sliced the beed in half. The true power force of Regulus in her white dragon slayer palms. Asuka lowered her gun, turned, and left as Alyssa followed suit, both going in different directions.

In that moment a new desire pulsed through Alyssa, the desire to crush Asuka in the tournament in the team portion of the competition and she regret not choosing the singles tournament as well.

She arrives back at her dorm and began devising foolproof strategies and powerful combination attacks that would guarantee her triumph over Asuka in the tournament. She posted them along her walls so she could force herself to memorize each and every attack and strategy and of them all, she was especially proud of one she titled: “Crystal Explosion”
