When I got out of the shower, I draped a robe around myself, wanting to preserve my modesty. As soon as that thought entered my mind, I rejected it. No, I was covering my body because it belonged to Sir. That was it.

Opening the door to the bedroom, I saw a suitcase, one of Sir's, sitting half-full on the bed. Tessa was standing next to it, folding a shirt before putting it in. "Do you have any clothing other than the few outfits in the closet and dresser?"

"N-No, just that. I um... didn't need to wear clothes that often." She nodded stiffly, her hands tightening around the zipper as she pulled it shut.

"I left out a shirt and pants for you as well as a pair of shoes. Get dressed in the bathroom." I nodded and took the clothing that she had pointed to, retreating away from her into the relative safety of the bathroom.

When I finished dressing and drying my hair, I reemerged. Tessa was once more standing next to the bed, but this time there was nothing that she was doing. She was simply staring at me as I fidgeted under her gaze.

"I-I'm ready, Tessa."

"I can see that."

We stood in silence for a moment longer before she turned and left the room, dragging the suitcase along behind her. I followed, unsure if that was what I was supposed to do. I tried my hardest not to step on the suitcase but to also not fall too far behind. The stairs made that a bit harder to do but I somehow made it down without tripping on it. I nearly turned to Tessa for congratulations and validation on a job well done but stopped myself just in time. I reminded myself that she was bad, that she was the enemy. I couldn't trust her and I certainly couldn't depend on her. I didn't realize that I had stopped moving until she spoke.

"Are you coming, Willa? We can stay for a moment for you to say goodbye, if you would like."

My eyes filled with tears at the same time my body filled with warmth at her words. "N-No, thank you. I don't want to slow you down any more."

Her hand was on my chin once more, her eyes searching mine. "You will never slow me down, Willa. Because of you, I am going to be faster and stronger than ever. Together, we will be the most powerful wolves alive. Well, we will once we bond and such. And get that collar off of you. But I will not rush you. Come, we have a long drive ahead of us." She added the last part abruptly, taking my hand and pulling me behind her as she left the house.

"W-Where are we going?"

"Home." I stopped again, not understanding. Well, I tried to stop. Tessa was still moving and her grasp dragged me forward, causing me to stumble and trip onto the bag. Fear flooded my veins, the knowledge that I fucked up the only thing that mattered. When Tessa felt me fall, she stopped as well, looking back. She stepped back towards me and I scrambled into my waiting position, sure that she was going to punish me for my transgression.

"I-I'm so sorry, Ma'am. I-I didn't mean to. What would you... W-What is my punisment?" Tessa abruptly stopped moving towards me and I could see her boots frozen mid-step. She slowly lowered her foot and stood, looking at me.

"Why would I punish you?" Her voice held a strange mixture of anger and confusion. "Is that what he would have done?"

"I-I messed up miss. I fell and I made you stop for me. If you'd like I can go get the fl... the flogger." The end came out in a whisper as I tried to hide it from her. As much as I wanted to obey, I also didn't want to have a flogging so soon after getting a new mistress.

"The what? I really hope I misheard you." The anger won over the confusion.

"The um... the flogger, Ma'am." There was a beat of silence, then her suddenly cold answer.

"Get up and get in the car. We are leaving now, Willa." I bowed my head further and stood.

"Y-Yes, Ma'am." My heart began to beat more slowly as I climbed into the back seat of the car. This was undone when I heard a voice come from the front.

"How did it go, Alpha?"

I shrieked, burrowing myself into the seat and scratching the door for the handle. I didn't know this person. Sir didn't say that they were okay to speak in front of. I needed to get away.

The other door opened across from me and Tessa climbed in, grabbing my shoulder and pinning me to the seat.

"If you will not calm down, you are going to have to sit on my lap until we hit the next rest stop." Her threat took a moment to sink in as I made a few more aborted movements to the door. "I see you made your choice."

I felt myself move for a moment before I was seated on something much warmer and firmer than the cushion. I would have gone crashing to the floor had it not been for the arms that entangled themselves around my waist, keeping me trapped against Tessa.

"I am not letting go. It is pointless for you to keep moving." Her words struch a chord in me, resonated deep in my mind. They pulled at the bars of the cage, still weakened from my inability to focus. They shook and my wolf howled, now fully awake and aware.

"Elliot, we are ready." It suddenly hit me that I was not getting out. Sir was never coming back. He was killed, dead by the hand of the woman who now held me in her lap. And then there was me. Completely helpless.
