So, it's my birthday today...

I'm 16 years old... Well, in all honesty, I don't feel any older. I feel the exact same actually. Pretty disappointed. What a rip off!

I woke up early this morning and I stalked over to my closet.

OK, Leah. Today is the day you show everyone how mature and adult-y you are! Must pick the perfect clothes!

I squint my eyes at my clothes. First up, pants. Very important clothing item! I was thinking of a simple skirt, very fashionable yet comfy. I search around for a while before finding a perfect (just above the knee) skirt. I've only worn it twice and they were both when my Mother took me to a fancy restaurant. I placed them neatly at the side of my bed.

Next: a shirt. It's been really hot for the past few days so I thought putting on a light T would work well. I decide to just close my eyes and grab something.

My hand rummages through my shirts until I grab hold of one and pull it out of it's drawer. It was a plain white crop-top with flowy sleeves, I smiled and allowed myself to wear the shirt. I put the shirt and skirt on and study myself in the mirror. I look merely above average, but that's all I ask for, I guess. I sigh and pick up a denim half-jacket and make my way to my bathroom.

I almost expect to see wrinkles lining over my eyebrows, but I look no different to yesterday. Just more stressed, really.

I grab at my phone to check the time,

"Ugh, 7 AM" I groan.

I haven't woken up this early since school was still on! I play around with my makeup for a while, I like to do makeup. I'm actually pretty good at it, though I don't like putting too much on, it kinda feels uncomfortable. Like I'm living through somebody else's face. Even if that persons face has nice smoky black eye-shadow and perfectly toned skin.

I go for the more natural look, I decide not to put foundation on today and just allow my freckles to roam around my face. I put eyeliner on and I light silver eye-shadow. It makes my eyes look bigger and brighter which is apparently a good thing. I make a goofy grin at myself in the mirror while I apply a thin layer of pale pink lipstick and start finishing up with the cleaning.

I check the time again and a half-hour had passed. Wow, was I really making weird faces at myself for an entire 30 minutes?

Bing!

I got a text.

"AHH!! HAPPY SWEET SIXTEEN, BUBS! -Katie" I smile,

"Aha, thank you, Sweetiekins!" I reply.

Almost immediately I get a text back,

"Want to meet me at the Coree Cafe in 10 mins?"

"Yes! Yes I do!"

I pack up my stuff and place them into my purse. I quickly write a note for my Mum,

'Don't flip out, Mother. I'm just getting some Hot Chocolate with Katie. If you need me, I'm a phone call away! We'll be heading to T.B Studios afterwards! Love you <3 - Leah"

I place my rose-boots on and skip out the door into the mid-morning breeze

I took the train to town and made it to Coree's just as Katie did.

"Katie!" I yell, waving my hand in the air.

Katie decided to braid her long hair today and it looks very professional, she has a cute little dress on with a black leather jacket.
