Kwan*
I knew this was gonna be hard to do after seeing my mom react in such a way. Dad said it will take time for us to get through this. But how long will that be? It's been 10 years from all the things I've been told. Knowing that my daddy tried to kill me and my mom is a lot to handle. It plays in my mind since I found out. What if he would have actually done it? My dad said I fought for my life so hard. I can only imagine how it was. I don't remember all of that. Since I came home from school I've been in my room pretty much all day. And then hearing my step mom on the phone bickering about my dad and my mom is getting on my nerves. I mean you got dad now and you still complaining.
What more do you want from him? It makes me feel like I'm not wanted here. Maybe if I talk to dad and asked him can I move out and move with mom it will fix her. A knock knocked me out my thoughts.
"Come in."
In comes Amira.
"Can I seat?"
"Sure."
I moved over for her to sit.
Amira*
"What's on your mind?"
"Amira I have so much on my mind I can't even focus on what's not."
I laid down next to him.
"Kwan there is so much I can say but I'm not. But I will say this. I want you to know that I love you. And it doesn't matter that you are not my brother. I still will be there for you and treat you with the upmost respect. I'm here if you want to talk or anything. Dad said he will protect you. And I believe him."
"Thanks for that. I really appreciate it."
"No problem. Besides I know dad is making ways for Mama Melissa."
"You think so?"
"I know so."
I smiled and kissed Kwan on the cheek.
"No biggie."
For a second I thought I saw tears streaming down his face. He turned back to me.
"I love you Amira."
"Awww love you too Kwan. Well I got to go do some homework. See you at dinner."
"Ok and thanks again. I owe you."
Blushing I said "I will hold that to your heart."
We laughed and I left.
Alonzo*
Jumping out the shower and throwing on something comfortable I sat on the bed and turned on the tv. Jalisha was cooking dinner and I was loving this alone time. As soon as I laid my head back to relax there was a knock on the door. Damn as soon as I was bout to relax here comes all the interruptions. "Come in."I said.
It was Kwan.
"Oh come in son."
