Bughead story ~ roommates

Chapter 20

In the months that followed Betty and Jughead had never been happier. They were so in love and neither of them had been happier. After their mini get away with reggie and Archie they were back in New York, in their apartment. Betty had gone back to college and the boys continued to work.

"Hey babe! I'm leaving!" Betty yelled from the kitchen one morning. Betty was screwing the lid on a to go cup of coffee. She was dressed in leggings and a jumper as it was cold. "Okay. Have a good day and I'll meet you for lunch?" Jug said coming out of the bedroom and hugging her. "Of course! Love you" she smiled. "Love you too" he said as he placed a soft kiss on her lips and handing her the coffee cup. He smiled as she blew him a kiss as she left for college. When the door shut behind her, he returned to his bedroom. He looked around and smiled at all of Betty's things that had accumulated in his room. She had pyjamas on the floor, her hair bush on the side and some books and perfume on the beside table. Looking around her realised, why were they taking turns in each other's rooms? Maybe they should just choose one room and make it there's.

Halfway through Betty's class, her phone buzzed in her pocket:

Jug: hey gorgeous. Hope you're having a good day! I'll meet you in our café on the corner of the park at 2. Love you! Xxx

His text made her heart melt in the best way. Smiling to herself she typed a reply:

Betty: Okay! I can't wait💗 love you Juggie xox

At 2pm Jughead found himself sat in the window seat of a small coffee shop waiting for Betty. He smiled as he saw a flash of blonde hair enter and green eyes met blue. "Juggie!" She beamed when she saw him and he stood up to hug her. "Hey you" he smiled and kissed her. "I ordered you a hot Chocolate" he said as they sat down; he knew Betty only drank coffee in the mornings because it spiked her anxiety. "Thanks jug. So how was your day?" She smiled. "It was okay, did some writing. How about you?" He said, taking a sip of his own black coffee. "Boring! I'm so ready to relax in bed" she sighed. "Actually talking about that..." he said as he reached over to grab her hand. "I was thinking... we keep taking turns in each-others rooms... when maybe... we should share a room?" He asked. "Like together? Like even sharing wardrobes..." she asked shyly and her cute smile made his heart ache. "Yes baby... even sharing wardrobe space" he chuckled. "Really? You want to do that with me?" She asked and he nodded. "Okay!" She smiled, excitedly. "Really?" He smiled. "Yep! I've been wanting to ask but I wasn't sure if you wanted to" she admitted. "But Juggie?" She asked. "Yeah Betts?" He said. "Could we maybe move into my room? I just... my rooms like my safe space I don't want to give that up" she said as she looked down. "Hey" he said as he lifted her chin up. "Of course! Anything for you" he said and leaned over the table to kiss her.

"So we'll have a spare room?" Reggie asked after Betty and Jughead told him and Archie their plans that evening. "Yeah" Jughead said. "So what will we do with it?" Archie asked. "We could keep it as a spare room for when people stay... or turn it into an office?" Betty suggested as she drained the pasta she was cooking for dinner. "We could make it into a gym!" Reggie said excitedly. "Yes bro!" Archie cheered and they fist bumped. "NO!" Both Jughead And Betty said. "We'll win you around the idea" reggie said. "Whatever! Lay the table dinners done" Betty said as they boys helped her.

That night as Betty and Jughead were laying in his bed. "Shall we start moving on the weekend?" Betty asked. "Sure" he said as he pulled her to his chest. "Hey Betts?" He said and she looked up at him. "Earlier in the coffee shop you said you wanted to ask me but you didn't want to bring it up... I just wanted you to know that you don't ever have to hide things from me. Okay? You can always tell me anything" he said. "Okay. I promise" she smiled. "Love you Betts" he said as the lay back down. "I love you too Juggie" she smiled and they fell asleep.
