Popcorn, check. Blanket, check. Mr Fluffy Bum, aka; my cat, check. Lets start watching The Graham Norton Show. I can't believe Ben was able to get onto that show to promote his new film, he knows how much I love that talk show. I turn on the T.V. and get comfortable with Mr Fluffy Bum hopping onto my lap as I set the popcorn down beside me.
The interview is going really well. Everyone is having a good time and answering all the questions Graham throws their way easily and light heartedly. It's actually really funny. And then Ben is asked;
"So, everyone else on the couch has partners, but Ben, nobody knows about you. Are you seeing anyone or...?" This is usually the moment where Ben neither confirms for denies that he is dating someone.
"Why, are you interested?" Ben fires back, laughing.
"Well, I'm sure many people are, I mean, who wouldn't be?" Graham gestures to the crowd who all start screaming, cheering and whistling, making Ben and even me laugh. "But is there nobody in your life? How is that possible?"
"It's not possible right now. I am seeing someone." I immediately start choking on the popcorn I was trying to eat. Shit, not again. I always seem to choke on popcorn. Mr Fluffy Bum hops off my lap at the commotion as the crowd start 'ooooh'ing in unison. What the hell is he doing?
"Really? Tell us more." Graham leans forward like a stereotypical teenage girl eager for gossip and I do the same, while simultaneously stuffing my mouth with popcorn.
"I've actually been seeing her for a couple of years, and we've been wanting to keep things under wraps."
"So, your not going to tell us who she is?"
"No." Graham leans back in disappointment, muttering an 'oh'. "But I do have a message for her, if you don't mind me sharing it?" A message? Go on. Settle my overly curious mind, Ben. "She loves this show, so I know she's watching." Graham gives him an eager nod, so Ben turns to one of the camera's and looks directly at it, making it seem as though he really is just talking to me. "Check your bedside drawer, inside your book. Turn to page 394. There's something inside there for you. Love you."
Love you too. I really need to find out what is in that book. I quickly move into Ben and I's shared bedroom, jumping onto the bed and opening the beside drawer on the opposite side of the room to take out my book. When I open the book, it automatically turns to page 394 where a piece of paper waits for me.
A letter.
I quickly take it, placing the book beside me to open the letter.
Dear Y/N,
My love/the love of my life. You have always been good with words, but now it's my turn to try.
Two years ago I met you by chance at the local book store. I was there trying to find something for my mother and you were trying to find something new and exciting to read, but instead you decided to help my useless ass find the perfect book. I couldn't be more grateful because I didn't only leave with a book, I left with a future with you.
The future for us had been filled with so many bad and absolutely great moments. From the time I ended up in the hospital for breaking my wrist on set, to staying indoors by the fire while it's freezing and raining outside, snuggled up together, laughing with your cat and my dog by our sides. We were there for each other through it all. I want to be there for you through many moments to come in the future.
I want to be there for many birthdays, Christmas's, Easters, and every other holiday. I want to be there with you as our kids run around causing mayhem, making us question why we even wanted them in the first place but then realizing we wouldn't want it any other way. But most of all I want to go through all this with you by my side as my wife.
Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N,
Will you marry me?
"So what do you say?" I quickly snap my tear streaked face towards the door to see Ben kneeling down on one knee with a velvet box in his hands containing the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. "Will you marry me?" I choke out a sob of happiness and I scramble off the bed, onto my knees on the floor, stopping directly in front of Ben.
"Always." I croak out.
"Always?" I roll my eyes and laugh.
"Of course I'll marry you." A giant smile breaks out onto his face.
"Really?" He asks and I nod my head eagerly. He brings me into a sloppy wet kiss, due to my tears, before breaking away to embrace each other in a tight, secure hug.
"Ben Jones, the love of my life, I'm looking forward to our forever and always."
