Mal's Pov Rachel had walked off, exploring Doom Manor while I was standing in the same spot as before. My life was a mess ever since Dick came back. Maybe it was meant to be that him and I help Rachel but with all the shit that was going on I would've liked to not met her. I sighed and walked back to Cliff and Gar which were still talking. Or more like arguing about Rachel and me staying.
,,Mal. Why don't you tell him that you guys mean no harm?",Gar asked me when I stopped in front of them. Cliff and him were both looking at me.,,I'm sorry Gar. But Cliff is right.",I answered and both of them said at the same time:,,He is/I am? (Cliff of course said I am? And Gar the other one)" I nodded.,,We do mean no harm but both, Rachel and I, need to leave. So help me find her before Chief gets back.",I meant and walked ahead. Gar and Cliff were dumbfounded and couldn't quite believe what I had said, still they followed me.
We found Rachel in front of the kitchen door. I had to smile because of Larry who was dancing in the kitchen while making dinner but it quickly faded when Cliff looked at me.,,Rachel.",I said and she turned around quickly. By that, she opened the kitchen door and pulled Larry's attention to us.,,We have guests?",he asked when he looked at Rachel but when his gaze fell on me, his demeanor changed a little.,,Mal.",he said bluntly.,,Ok... No we don't have guests because they were about to leave, right?",Cliff told Larry and looked at me.,,Oh c'mon you big old party popper. Let them stay. Dinner's almost ready.",Larry said and now I was the one looking dumbfounded. I thought that they hated me.,,They need to leave before Chief comes back!",Cliff meant.,,It's fine. Relax. He's away for a while.",Larry replied and looked at Rachel. Great! Just great.... I wanted to leave this place now but not without her.,,Guess we'll stay for dinner.",I mumbled and rolled my eyes.
Dinner Guess where I was sitting right now... Correct! At the table with Cliff, Gar and Rachel. It seemed as if Rita wouldn't be eating with us tonight and Chief wasn't here which was good.
Larry came with the rest of the food and I felt how much I missed this but leaving this place was for the best for all of us. Especially for Becky and I.,,Let's eat.",Larry said and sat down. Everyone took as much as they wanted, except for Cliff because he was a fucking robot and couldn't eat. During everything that was happening right now, I had watched everyone of them. I just wanted to be sure that we were safe and after dinner Rachel and I would leave. But when Rita suddenly came and got her food from Larry, I knew that something was about to happen and it did.
We were talking a little when Rita's face changed.,,Oh no...",I thought and looked at her. This was happening every now and then when I was here and I had never feared Rita because this was just her "condition". I let my gaze fall on Rachel and she said almost the exact same things which I had said when I first saw Rita like that.,,I'm not afraid of you.",Rachel meant and looked at Rita while reaching out her hand to her. Oh man.... Why was she so nice?! I turned my gaze back to my plate which was empty and was about to stand up when I heard the door open. He was back...
Time skip Chief had come back and told Rachel about his work and the others. I was leaning against the door frame looking at him as he was talking.,,And Mal here was a good change when I found her and Becky.",Chief meant looking at me. Rachel looked at me, just like Gar.,,Then why did she leave?",Gar asked and looked back at Chief.,,That is none of your concerns.",Chief said.,,Chief? Can I talk to you for a sec?",I inquired and nodded my head in direction of the living room.,,But of course.",he replied and smiled slightly. I rolled my eyes and walked into the living room with Chief following me.
,,You will not get Rachel involved, understand?",I began and turned to look at him.,,I would never without her permission and last time I checked, you weren't a mother.",Chief said and I balled my hands into fists.,,You know what you did... And what you are capable of! I just want to make sure that she's safe.",I meant and crossed my arms.,,I missed you. It was quiet in here without you and Becky.",Chief said and caught me of guard a little by saying that.,,This is not the point... Before Rachel and I leave, you have to answer me a question first.",I meant not looking at him.,,Anything.",he replied.,,Did you destroy the serum you made from my blood?",I asked and looked him dead in the eyes.,,Not all of it. I used it to save Gar's life.",he answered like it was totally normal.,,You did what?!",I inquired speechless. I had told him to destroy it after what had happened when he used the serum on somebody. It killed that person!
,,I saved his life with it. No big deal.",Chief said.,,No big deal? You killed someone with it! It could've killed Gar!",I shouted and threw my arms in the air.,,Oh c'mon Mal. He's healthy and alive.",he meant and I shook my head.,,I can't believe it...",I mumbled and looked back at him.,,I will take Rachel and leave this place. You will not stop me. I broke your back once and I will do it again.",I threatened and the room began to shake slightly because of my powers.

But suddenly I felt dizzy. I looked at my left upper arm and saw a tranquilizer dart in it.,,I can't let you leave with her.",Chief said bluntly and I began to stumble backwards a little. Shit!,,Her powers are extraordinary! She could save thousands of lives but therefore I have to find out more about this darkness inside of her.",he continued and just looked at me while I was struggling to stay awake.,,You bastard! I will kill you.",I meant and tried my hardest to not lose my consciousness.,,Farewell my old friend.",Chief added and then I was engulfed by nothing but darkness....
Unknown Pov As Mal fell to the floor, Chief looked at her from above with a slight smile on his face. He pulled out the tranquilizer dart and put it in his pocket just in time to see Rachel and Gar walking in the living room.
,,Mal!",Rachel exclaimed when she saw her friend laying on the floor.,,What happened?",Gar asked and looked at Chief.,,I don't know. One second we were talking and the other she lost consciousness.",Chief explained but Gar couldn't quite believe what Chief had said. Something was off.,,She'll be fine, right?",Rachel inquired with concern.,,But if course my dear. She just needs to rest. We'll lay her on the couch and then I will help you. Ok?",Chief promised and Rachel believed him.,,He is a nice man. And saves lives.",the girl thought.,,Larry! Please lay Mal on the couch. It'll be way more comfortable than laying on the floor. And you two, go downstairs. I'll be right behind you.",Chief told them and Rachel and Gar went downstairs into the basement where Chief helped the people he brought here. Rachel took one last glance behind her and saw how Larry was picking up Mal.,,She'll be fine.",Chief repeated. Rachel only nodded before continuing to walk down the stairs...
