Rory remembered when there was a time that she loved the supernatural. It was such an interesting world, a world that belonged to the one she loved the most, and a world she preferred to not to join herself. She liked to be on the outside looking in. She liked being human. And now, after nearly a week of being stuck in the same crypt, being tested and watched constantly by the witches that kept her from leaving the graveyard, she was beginning to detest the supernatural.

"You're so...young."

The tall, dark haired, chiseled featured man who appeared to be somewhere between his late twenties and early thirties, stared at Rory inquisitively in the same dark crypt she had awoken in a few days ago. However, this time, the gate was unlocked and Hayley was being kept in another part of the graveyard. The witches didn't really care for Hayley, but knew Rory wouldn't comply as well if Hayley was tossed out.

The man, a vampire named Elijah, had arrived with Sophie. He was as surprised as anyone else to learn Rory was pregnant with the infamous Klaus' child, and even went so far as to request a private conversation apart from the overbearing witches to discuss her pregnancy. Rory still couldn't believe it herself, but the signs were there, and becoming more apparent by the day. She was somewhat used to the acrid taste of vomit by then.

"I'm eighteen." She knew Klaus had to be much, much older than her; forget decades, but more likely hundreds of years by the way everyone was treating the topic of her age with shock. Like, obviously she knew being 18 and pregnant wasn't exactly a dream come true, but weirder things have happened. At least she was a legal adult!

"Far too young, far too innocent for all of this." He sighed deeply, muttering under his breath about Klaus and inappropriate consortiums.

Rory rolled her eyes. This conversation wasn't going much of anywhere. She had hoped having a private conversation with Elijah, who was clearly someone close to Klaus, would give her a chance to convince him to help her and Hayley get free. He had this air about him, a sort of wise, meticulousness that gave Rory the feeling that he was someone also very powerful, an authoritative demeanor she recognized in the way he walked and looked at things. But all he was doing was acting like some sort of mother hen, concerned with the situation of her being pregnant, but not with the fact she had been kidnapped and held ransom until Klaus somehow found out.

"Will you help us get out? We've been stuck down here for days—"

"We?" He raised his brow curiously.

"Hayley—possibly a long-lost relative, but we don't know for sure. The witches don't like to explain much. They caught me because we went out into the Bayou. And then they separated us when Sophie got word that 'they'," Rory used her fingers to show quotation marks, "—I assume you and Klaus—arrived in town."

"And you discovered you were pregnant then? Or you knew before you came to New Orleans?" Elijah wondered if the girl was in league with the witches plot, but he had a strong feeling she was just an innocent pawn in their game. He pitied her, especially in her state.

"I..." She hesitated to answer, dark clouds lined her thoughts as she recalled the reason her whole life was ruined less than six months ago. So much had happened, all she wanted to do was leave the supernatural and vampires behind her like it was once upon a dream. And now she was tangled in an even darker web.

She cleared her throat, "If I had known Klaus was a vampire—or hybrid—I would've stayed far away from him, no offense. I'm not in the position to be the center of some gory, insane supernatural drama. I left my h—the place I came from—to escape all of that."
