"WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON?" Klaus walked into the Abattoir as evening fell to a peculiar sight.

Ten or so vampires were all hanging out in the courtyard, music blaring from the speakers usually used for parties. Someone had brought out a ping pong table in the center of the courtyard, cheering and jarring the heated match being between Rory and Diego.

Her wavy hair was tied up in a bun, a few loose tendrils framing her slightly flushed face. She was glowing. In the oversized shirt she wore, Rory almost looked like any normal college student if not for the hint of her pregnant belly whenever her body tilted a certain degree.

Klaus watched as Diego faked left and hit the ball to her right instead, winning him the last point.

"Damn!" Rory groaned as the vampire raised his hands victoriously to a mix of cheers and boos.

"Rematch!" Someone called out, fully entertained from the two's match.

Despite being pregnant and human, she held up her own against the vampires pretty well (although for the most part, the vampires played fairly whenever she was at the table in a modicum of respect.)

"Oh, that's enough physical exertion for today, guys." Rory rubbed her belly with a radiant smile, holding out her pin pong handle toward a surly looking vampire who suddenly looked bashful under her attention. "Pete, it's your turn."

The human stepped away, heading toward the nearest couch, a few vampires following anyways, engaging her in conversation. They were almost fighting for her attention, a laugh, acknowledgement like modern day courtiers. It was a drastic change to how she was first treated a few weeks ago when Klaus took control of the city. Evidently, even the vampires of New Orleans were not immune to Rory's undeniable charm.

A dark-haired vampire carrying a pink box walked right past the Hybrid as if she hadn't seen him. He was about to snap at her when she called out, "Yo, Rory, I picked you up those Voodoo Donuts you were craving."

With immediate interest, the pregnant woman turned in the direction her name came from. Her eyes widened in delight as the vampire opened the box. "Oh my goodness, thank you so much, Claire. Just what I needed." She selected one of the treats before turning to the crowd engaged with the game. "Guys! Donuts!" Even though none of them needed to eat, the donuts were happily accepted.

"You've certainly become quite popular," Klaus said, standing right behind Rory. He found it amusing she wasn't even startled at his discreet appearance. He ushered her away from the crowd for a bit of privacy, the cacophony having died down when they realized Klaus was present.
