I sat at my kitchen table with my older and younger sister, my baby brother and my dads.

"How was school?" my dad asked.

"It was fine" my older sister, Melanie shrugged.

"5th grade is weird" my younger sister, Grace spat.

"It was hectic, but I met a girl" I smirked.

Everyone at the table turned towards me.

"You're dating again?" Melanie screeched.

"I hope so! I met her on her way to school when her little brother fell, he needed a bandaid and I had one. We kinda just hit it off from there" I smiled.

"Honey that's great! are you going to make it official?" my dad asked.

"I hope so! but every girl at school is drooling over her." I rolled my eyes.

"Are you talking about Kate? the new girl?" Melanie froze.

"Don't tell me you're-" Melanie cut me off.

"Oh no, not me but some juniors want her. Some of my friends even. You better get her now."

"Alright. Ill walk to her house after dinner." I shrugged.

"I told you walking to school would pay off sometime" my other dad laughed.

After I finished my food, I went out to my garage and grabbed my skateboard, I flung on my helmet and knee pads and headed for her house.

I became nervous when I skated into her driveway, I hopped off my board and rang the doorbell.

A tall woman with brown hair answered the door.

"Is Kate here?" I stuttered.

The woman's face fluttered with excitement.

"Kate! your friend is here!" she called upstairs.

I saw Kate run down the stairs, "hey blare" she smiled.

"Up for some skating?" I smirked.

Kate looked at her mom for conformation, her mom nodded and she walked out the door to me.

"Is there a skatepark around here?" she asked as she opened her garage door.

"Only the biggest one you've ever seen" I smirked.

She got her knee pads and helmet on and practically jumped onto her board, I went faster so I could go ahead, she trailed swiftly behind me as we made our way to the skatepark.

"This place is huge" she gasped.

"And theres rarely any people"

There were only two other skaters there at the time, which was nice because last time I was here I had a full on collision with this one really rude chick.

Kate and I skated till we got tired, I jumped up into the top of the ramp and looked over the skatepark, which was now lighted with street lamps. Kate joined me after realizing I wasn't skating anymore.

"It's beautiful in this town" she sighed.

"Yeah, that's what I love about it."

"How many people live in Wallworth?" she asked.

"About 13,000 or so, give or take a few." I shrugged.

"Out of 13,000 people, I got to meet the prettiest one on my first day" she smiled.

I could feel heat in my face, "awe thanks. Well I'm glad your brother is a klutz which gave me a reason to meet you" I smiled.

"I'm hungry" she complained.

"Ice cream?" I offered.

"Is it close?"

"We can skate there in five minutes. Lets go." I got on my board and flew down the ramp, all the way on the other side I flew up and landed on a flat zone. We walked to the street and I set my board down, I looked behind me to see Kate doing the same thing.

"Hope you can keep up with me" I winked.

"If I knew where we were, you'd be eating my dust" she smirked at me, I swore I felt my heart stop, or at least skip a beat.

We headed down the lit streets of Wallworth until we came across the ice cream parlor, my favorite place as a kid.

"Chocolate?" I asked.

"Cookie dough." Kate laughed.

I ordered chocolate and cookie dough Ice cream for the two of us and we sat at the booth.
