Chapter 40

*Two days later*

Finally, Christmas is here. Carollers around here thank god. At least now, I get to spend it with my family, my boyfriend, and his family. I'm so excited for him to see his present. The look on his face and how he reacts to it will all be priceless.

"Baby, you ready to go?" Luke asks me. I nod. I'm wearing my gray knit sweater, black leggings, red infinity scarf, brown leather boots, a cross necklace, and my hair is in loose ringlets.

We drive to my dad's house for Christmas this year. Since, he has a bigger house than Luke's parents. When we get to my dad's house, a few people have already arrived. When I see the cars I know exactly who. Then running out here from the door comes Susanna.

"Aunt Claire!" I hear her yell as she hugs me. "Where've you been?" she asks being a little bit sassier than I remember.

"Trying to get your uncle Luke is a pain didn't you know." I say as we walk into the house. I'm greeted by my dad then introduced to his new girlfriend.

"Claire, this Rebecca." my dad says as I shake her hand.

"Just call me Becky. You know, I recognize you." she says.

"Do you have any kids that enjoy YouTube, or Five Seconds Of Summer?" I ask as Luke approaches me.

"Yes, oh my gosh. My son Noah is a huge fan of your's Claire. And my daughter Veronica is a huge fan of Five Seconds Of Summer." she explains. "Are they in the backyard right now?"

"Yeah, I'll go get them." my dad  says running to the back door. In less than two minutes comes running both Noah and Veronica.

"Veronica is thirteen and Noah is fifteen." Becky explains. "Veronica, Noah! I have a surprise!" she yells as they both come running. Once their eyes are laid on both Luke and me, their faces just went from calm to joy.

"Oh my god. My step sister is Claire Simins!" Noah yells.

"Hi, I hear you're a huge fan of mine." I say as he nods. "Just treat me like you would treat your older sister. I promise you we'll get along great."

"Wait, does that make Luke my brother inlaw!?" Veronica asks as we nod. "Please tell me I'm only dreaming and I'll wake up soon?"

"If you were only dreaming then does this hug feel real?" Luke asks as he hugs Veronica.

"Oh my god, you guys are real." she says as tears start to form upon her eyes.

"Aw sweetie, its okay." I say rubbing her back.

After about twenty minutes, everyone finally shows up. So we have present time. I'm super excited. "Alright, who wants to pass out presents?" My dad asks as Billy volunteers.

"First present goes to, aunt Alana from Grandpa." Billy says giving Alana the present. It was a baking book. "Next present uncle Luke from aunt Claire."

When Luke opens his present I saw a smile pull at the corners of his lips. "What is it?" Noah asks.

"A scrapbook of our lives from over the years. Ha-ha, this one is my favorite." he says pointing to the photo of the two of us on Halloween when we were six.

*Flashback*

"So, for this Halloween we should go as Thing One and Thing Two." I explain.

"Are we going to dye our hair or just wear wigs?"

"Well if we tease our hair a bit then put blueberry kool aid in our hair, we'll be okay." I say grabbing a comb. "Now hold still." I say trying to spike his hair a bit. I then grab a blueberry kool aid packet and mix it with water. I then put the dye into Luke's hair. This takes me about ten to fifteen minutes. "Done, now I just have to blow dry your hair then you have to wash it out." he does as so.

"What the heck, my hair looks like a giant blueberry!" he yells as I laugh. "Its not funny now shut up!"

"Okay, my turn." I say. "Go get your costume on while I do my hair." I demand. The dye in my hair settled just how I needed it too. I then get my costume on as well.

"Luke, Claire, come on, if you guys want to go to the north side we have to go now!" My dad yells as we run into the front room. "Oh my god!" he yells as both Luke and I fall over laughing like the two idiots we are.

*Out of Flashback*

"Oh my gosh, that was hilarious." Josh says laughing.

"I think I still have some dye left on the back of my neck." Luke says as we both laugh.

"My mom was so upset then." I say.

"Okay, next present is for, Susanna from Grandma." Billy explains handing Susanna her present.

My  presents were great. The movie If I Stay from Alana. A new Ed Sheeran CD from Ben. A gift card to Delia's from Becky, Noah, and Veronica. A Snow Patrol band t-shirt from Erica. A few Fall Out Boy bracelets from the kids. A sweet necklace from Luke. A set of beats from Jack. A new outfit from Liz and Andrew. A gift card to hot topic from Josh and Samantha. And my dad got me a necklace saying daddy's girl. All great gifts.

That night, Luke and I decide to go home and watch old Christmas movies. As usual he falls asleep before me. I get a text from Calum. 'Hey, come outside to your front porch real quick.' I run outside quickly and quietly. I wrap my sweater around me and throw on my slippers. There stands Calum with a smirk on his face.

"Hey, I got you something." he says handing me a small box. I open it to find a little puppy inside.

"She's adorable." I say. "I got you something as well, wait out here." I run into my room then grab his present. I hand him the present as he hands me back my new puppy. "Its from both Luke and me. Its a collar for Ketchup. Along with a tag that has his name on it."

"Thanks." he says as we both look up. "I guess we're stuck here now."

"Damn mistletoe." I say laughing. After we've both kissed, I head back inside with our new dog. She's a blue cane corso. One breed I've wanted all my life. I take her into my room and set her next to me as I say random names. "Justine," no anwser. "Regina George." I nearly laugh at myself. Still no response. "JoJo?" that's when her ears perched up and she faced towards me. Jojo, that's her new name.

~~~~Wow, this was pretty quick to type up. So, I'm gonna say this a billion times but I'm hating school right now. For personal reasons. So, any likers on the name Jojo. To me it reminds me of Jojo's Circus and if you don't know what that is, you had no childhood. If you have never seen a blue cane corso or don't know what it is, look it up on google. Its so adorable and I want one when I grow up. As said before, I've cut down the amount of chapters so there's ten more chapters to type up till the end!!!
