The grey sky grew darker and darker as the afternoon passed by. You stared cautiously at your watch aware that the time was ticking. Eventually the bus turned up and was rammed to the brim like sardines in a can. You stood squashed between two commuters on their way back from work. Dance practice was that night and it was the last rehearsal before the big festival. When you got home you threw on your dance leggings and top and whisked your dance bag off the table and hopped into the passenger seat of your mothers car. When you arrived at the dance studio your friend Harper was already their stretching. "Hey y/n ready for the big performance?" You nodded anxiously as you were terrified of the haunting idea of messing up. You and all your dance mates entered the studio and stood before your teacher Elice. She was a young woman probably about 25. Her eyes were a deep brown and her nose sharp and pointy. Her brown hair cascaded over her shoulders and she always wore the same pale pink lipstick. "You have all be given the opportunity to take part in a once in a lifetime event. I'm a glad that I picked the six of you to represent our studio. You six have proved yourselves in your dance commitment and loyalty the last couple of years." Elice was a nice woman. Wouldn't hurt a fly. She had a loving heart. Leader of many women's rights marches. You practiced hard that evening. You danced for hours. Elice had always had a soft spot for you and had offered for you to take part in many of the dances for the festival. You were in both of the group dances and had one solo and a duet with your duet partner Matty which was awkward because you knew he liked you but you always felt bad when he asked you if you wanted to go out to the cafe as you didn't like him the same way.
