Chapter Seven- Escape From Racoon City

(A/N: I'm keeping the ending of this chapter as is, from the original game, because I like that one with this story better.)

As we began walking out of the lab, I noticed that Leon looked really mad.

"Leon? Are you alright?" I asked him. He nodded.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He said. We made it out to where the main elevator was, and I saw a woman in a red dress trying to make it to the elevator. When she saw us, she came over to us instead.

"Leon, do you have the sample? I was starting to get worried." She said. He nodded.

"Yeah, I have it." He said, taking it out of his hip pouch. She held out her hand.

"Good. Give it to me." She said, but he didn't.

"Hold on, I need to ask you something. I ran into Annette Birkin. She said that you weren't FBI. Is that true?" He asked. She sighed, then pulled a gun out on him!

"Oh, Leon. You should have just given me the sample." She said. He pulled his gun out too, and they were virtually facing off against each other, while I tried to scope out a way for us to escape. Suddenly, when she put her gun down, the woman was shot in the shoulder! Leon and I looked back and saw Annette! She had shot her! Suddenly, the platforms that we were on began giving out, and the woman fell over the side! Leon and I were quick to grab her hands, Leon dropping the sample in the process. "Leon, go!" She said. He shook his head.

"I'm not leaving you!" He responded. I could feel her hand slipping out of mine, and I tried to hold on tighter.

"Forget about me, just go!" She said, but he wouldn't listen, until...she slipped from our grasps. We sat there helplessly as she fell. I placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Leon...I'm sorry." I said. He didn't say anything, but stood, and gently pulled me up with him.

"We have to get out of here." He said. I nodded and followed him into the elevator. Soon, we made it to a moving platform of some sort, where Leon put in two plugs that got it moving. As we waited for it to reach the ground floor, a monster, different from the last, jumped onto the platform! Leon tried to take him on, but it was a losing battle until, coincidentally, a rocket launcher fell onto the platform! He grabbed it, and blasted the monster, destroying it. "Carter, are you alright?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm okay." I said. Once we got off the platform, we saw a train getting ready to leave, so we were quick to jump onto it and get inside. Once inside, we found a woman and a girl inside. Leon knew the woman.

"Claire!"

"Leon!" They hugged each other. The little girl looked at me.

"Who are you?" She asked. I smiled.

"I'm Carter Wesker. I've been stuck here for a long time, but Leon saved me. I'm gonna help you guys out." I said. She smiled, and Claire patted my shoulder.

"Nice to meet you, Carter. I'm Claire Redfield." She said. I smiled.

"Nice to meet you too." I said. Leon and Claire spoke for a minute, before Leon went back to the front of the train. I began playing with Sherry a little to help pass the time. Suddenly, the train shook violently, and an alarm began blaring! I hugged Sherry close to me and looked around. Leon came running back in.

"What was that?!" He asked, and Claire looked at each other, shaking our heads. I left Sherry with Claire, and followed Leon out to the connecting car.

"Warning: Biohazordous outbreak imminent. Emergency system has been activated. This train will detonate in two minutes. Repeat: this train will detonate."

My eyes widened. Leon and I tried to go back to Claire and Sherry, but the door wouldn't budge!

"What's wrong?" Leon asked.

"I don't know, the door won't open!" Claire responded. We began running down through the other car, when a tentacle of some sort came out of the vent! We ran back, and I looked behind us. I screamed in horror at what I saw. It was a monster of some sort, but it was all teeth and...and...I couldn't stop screaming, until Leon grabbed ahold of me, pulled me close to him, and moved us both back. It kept moving towards us, and Leon and I quickly began firing at it, hoping to destroy it. Finally, it seemed to go down, and began...melting? Ewww! We went through the door, back to where the trains connected, when the alarm began sounding again! Leon was pounding on the door for Claire to stop the train, when that thing began coming after us again! I screamed, when suddenly, Leon grabbed me by the waist, and threw me onto the roof of the train! I looked over and put my hand down.

"Leon! Quick! Grab my hand!" I called. He did and I pulled him up. We crawled over to the front of the train, and Leon opened the hatch over the controls. Sherry was in there!

"Sherry!"

"Leon?" The train shook again.

"Push the switch over there!" He pointed to a button. Sherry pushed it, and the train began stopping. Finally, it stopped. Leon and I got off the roof, and Sherry got outside. "Are you alright?" He asked her. She nodded.

"I'm okay." She said. He nodded, then looked around.

"Where's Claire?!" He asked. I looked around too.

"You go find her, I'll stay here with Sherry." I said. He nodded, but she was already coming around to us. Then, the tentacles began coming out of the train again!! She looked back.

"It just won't quit! We have to get out of here. Run!" She said, and we all began running. I quickly scooped Sherry up and onto my back so she didn't get left behind. We had just gotten out of the tunnel when the train self destructed. I put Sherry down. We all sighed. "So...It's finally over." Claire said, and looked at Sherry. "Sherry, you look terrible!" She said. Sherry smiled.

"No worse than you, Claire!" She said, and I laughed.

"Come on, we have to leave." Leon said, and began walking away.

"Why? Is something following us?" Claire asked.

"We have to go. we don't have any time to waste." He said. Claire and I looked at each other, confused.

"Go? Where?" She asked him, and he stopped and turned to us.

"It's up to us to take out Umbrella!" He said, and I nodded.

"You said it!" I said. And we followed Leon away from Racoon City.
