If you were to be in the room keeping the Soul of Justice, all you would see is darkness, all you would hear is the exhausted breathing of a defeated human, and all you would feel is disturbance. In that darkness, hides a figure, a strange being who speaks with their hands known as W.D. Gaster. It is unknown what they do or where they came from, but they're here for an important reason, to help a Soul. Gaster begins to speak

"Hello, Justice. It's good seeing you... again. Not so lucky with that last run. I know I agreed to help you get a 'fair' go at the mountain so you could live, but this is getting old."

Justice began to speak, their voice sounded of many, they sounded like a crowd

"It's coming back to me..., how many deaths was it?"

Gaster thought for a moment

"You have died 32 times and, if you remember right, you haven't gotten close."

Justice rubbed their eyes and said

"Why can't you let me remember everything after you put me back? I'd be able to remember my mistakes."

Gaster didn't like the idea

"If you do get everything right and remember, the humans will have you locked up at the penitentiary. You got into this mess, now I have to help. Let's look back on what's happened so far, in case that head of yours is experiencing something missing."

Gaster made a slideshow appear next to them.

"Here we are at the beginning, when you first entered the mountain. *flip* Dead. *Flip* Here we are the 7th time around, you're a bit older with a new look and a smarter brain. *Flip* Dead. *Flip* Here we are the 15th time, we paired you up with the Soul of Bravery. *Flip* You both died."

Gaster decided to end the slideshow there.

"Do you see? No matter what combination we try, you still die. You know what? I'm ready to give up, how about you?"

Justice just shook their head

"What about... the seventh Soul? The one who has Determination! Maybe they're the one."

Gaster thought for a moment before talking to Justice again

"You might be right, they say Determination can do many great things, but dragging you along to their adventure might change so many things. This isn't something you test and then try again, it might ruin them."

Gaster crouched to Justice's level.

"If you want to change everything, this is your only chance to do so."

Justice was on their knees and they rose to their feet, along with Gaster

"I can do this, I'm not going to die again. Besides, if I mess up, you can help, right?"

"No, I mean it when you have one shot at this. This will be my last time helping you. The Soul of Determination has the power to reset the timeline and alter their choices, they will try anything to discover my secrets with that power, if they know you're involved. If you are killed and brought back to Frisk again, they will remember you."

Justice looked gloomy

"Well, let's get to it, Gaster."

Gaster proceeded to speak and plan

"Your new name shall be David Mason, you are a 17 year old male high school student living a nice, about to be changed, quiet life."

David was confused

"Why am I always changing age and all that stuff?"

"You would've been 17 at the time and I just like changing your life, Justice. Now, away we go!"

As soon as Gaster said "go" David woke up in his bedroom, completely unaware of what just happened. He looked around the room and saw nothing that could've caused him to wake up, so David went back to sleep. David didn't realize that by tomorrow morning, he will embark on a great adventure!
