Providence (Rebooted)

Ch. 3 The Skele-bros

The outside of the mountain had fair weather, but the new area that the humans are in are very cold. There is snow everywhere and Frisk is visibly chilly, while David is somewhat warm. David sees Frisk slightly shaking from the cold, David thought

"Ok, this kid is obviously cold, but if I give them my jacket, I'll be cold... I hate my lawful neutral way of life."

David proceeds to remove his jacket and show it to Frisk, he says

"Here, you can wear my jacket."

Frisk declines the offer and bewildered David, he said

"Ok, what? Mind telling me why?"

Frisk looked shy to answer, David said

"Look, if we're going to get through this, you're gonna have to talk to me."

Frisk let out a sigh and waited a few seconds to work up the courage to say something, their voice sounded like a young girl and Frisk said

"Ok, fine. I don't like that you're pressuring me though. I don't want your jacket because I'm worried that you'll just feel cold also. And besides, I think it looks good with your cowboy boots."

David was still surprised to hear Frisk speak, he didn't expect her to be a girl. David snapped out of his thoughts and said

"Wait, how old are you?"

Frisk replied "12, why?"

David raised an eyebrow in amusement and said

"Jeez, you're small for your age. I was just curious by the way."

Frisk nodded in understandment and the two continued forward. The humans saw a big stick, but thought nothing of it until they walked past it and it suddenly shattered in pieces. David commented

"Stay on your guard. I think we're being watched."

Frisk nodded. David and Frisk approach a bridge of some sort  that looks like its supposed to keep humans out, but anyone could just easily walk through it. A sudden breeze was felt behind the humans, David looked behind him and saw a mysterious figure. David felt like being afraid, but just like with Toriel, he felt like this mysterious figure was someone he met before. The figure spoke with a deep, calm voice

"Humans. Don't you know how to greet a new pal? Turn around and shake my hand."

The figure reached his hand out and the humans turned to face the figure. Frisk was about to shake the figure's hand, but David stopped her from doing so and said

"Wait... I have a cold *fake cough*. How about we fist bump?"

David thought what the figure was going for was a trick, he had a hunch to not shake his hand. The figure said

"Heh, you're smarter than you look."

David fist bumped the figure, but as soon as he made contact with the figure, a long fart sounded from the figure's fist. The figure said

"But I know better not to just rig my palm with a whoopie cushion."

David was surprised, he didn't expect the fist from the stranger to be rigged as well. The stranger continued

"I always have a backup and it's always funny. Anyways, you both are humans, right? That's hilarious. I'm Sans. Sans the skeleton. I'm actually supposed to be on watch for humans right now. But... you know... I don't really care about capturing anybody. My brother, Papyrus, on the other hand, is a human hunting fanatic."

Sans looks past David and Frisk and sees Papyrus looking for Sans in the distance, Sans continues

"Hey, actually, I think that's him over there."
