~Keith~
Keith was an interesting man, to say the least. His brother had a sickness in his arm that needed a lot of money that they did not have. So Keith had married men who were rich and old. Once they died Keith mourned for a day or so then moved on. He had grown a big reputation and a considerable amount of money. His brother was now healed and married to the love of his life, Adam. Keith liked him and he was even the best man, but they were just so mushy.
After a few months of being bugged that he needed to find someone who he actually loved and all of that...stuff, he finally cracked and gave in. Well, as much as he could. He agreed to get a pet, but nothing more. He didn't know what kind so Adam suggested that he get a shapeshifter. Keith had been thinking about it and looked at some, but none interested him. Shiro then stepped in, trying to save his brother from a loveless life, and told him to go to an auction house and find one. Keith had said he had already been to some, and it was true, he had already been to three of them. Shiro wouldn't give up on him though. He gave Keith an address to one of the auction houses he hadn't been to, it was also known as the one that hurt the shapeshifters. Shiro felt if Keith could find one they could take better care of it and give it a better life as well. That is what happened to Adam. Keith had let Shiro get a shapeshifter and he could turn human, although he had no other extra powers The two fell in love and now were married.
Keith sighed audibly and shook his head, agitated as he walked into the auction house. He had spotted Lotor and well, let's just say they weren't besties. Keith got a numbered card and stood in the crowd, waiting for it to start. In 10 minutes Keith was already bored. All of them were the same. Lotor had gotten one, so had a lady in a ponytail and a man with an eyepatch. As they brought out another one Keith watched with disinterest as a woman with short blue hair snatched it up. Around the end of the auction, Keith was brooding. He was bored, hungry, tired, sore, and most of all done with Lotor standing right next to him as if tormenting him. Finally, they brought out the last shapeshifter. He was in the form of a red fox, but something was different. He looked like he was only a baby. How old was he? Keith felt a pang of sympathy for the little red fox, already more interested then he had been all night.
The auctioneer picked it up by its scruff and showed it to the crowd, who seemed as confused as him. The man began talking then, so the crowd quieted. "This fine shapeshifter, ladies and gentleman, is a rare one. He has a human form and can change how old he appears to be!" Ah, that explained it. He had probably been forced into the form of a child. "And that's not all! He can also change his size and the best part is he can change into all the different breeds of all the different species of animal! His bidding starts at one million dollars!" Keith raised his eyebrows. Well, he was sold. He had never heard of a shapeshifter like him, perfect. He waited for people to bid it out and for most of them to drop out before he spoke, silently wishing Lotor would stay silent although he knew he wouldn't. He was much too powerful.
Once people began to drop out and he was confident that he could be heard with perfect clarity he spoke. "Ten million." He called. The crowd went silent, staring at him in wonder. Then his enemy called out next to him, much too tall for Keith's opinion. "Fifteen million."
Keith glared at him, not trying to hide his anger. He knew what Lotor did to shapeshifters. He bred them with other shapeshifters but if they had a human form he took advantage of that. Keith could not let that happen to this one but at the same time, he was not willing to give up any more money although he had it to spare and the numbers were only growing now that he had invested it in his new company. The only thing that stopped him was when he heard the fox whimper when the man holding him did something. He would not let this amazing shapeshifter be hurt anymore. He didn't want this to dabble on any longer so he said a number that he knew Lotor wouldn't try to top. "Twenty million." He called out, keeping eye contact with Lotor the entire time, daring him to try and top it. Lotor glared back evenly, having to look down slightly from the height difference.
