After The Candy Apple Factory, we walked through the mall, navigating our way back towards the Food Court. Instead of going to the Food Court, we took a left and went down the north side towards Dillard's. She insisted that we go to this store called Buckle which is a neat little clothing store that has a variety of apparel to choose from. This store always interested me because one time I passed by it, they had the workers dressed up in clothes from their own store and they would pretend they were mannequins. As we entered the store, she informed me that she needed my help to look for a shift for her uncle.

Now here's the part of the story where I start to question things. Not once in any of our conversations did she ever talk about her uncle. Her mom, of course, her sister, all the time, her grandmother, occasionally, but her uncle, NEVER HEARD OF HIM. Maybe I'm just making a big deal about this, I don't really know, but now that its been six months since the break up, it does sound kind of suspicious to me. Anyway back to the story...

We had gone to this store before and every time we did, there would always be this worker who would come up to us and start talking about the latest clothes they had. Like I'll give the guy credit for doing his job the right way, but DUDE if you see the same couple walk into the same store giving you the same reply each time, doesn't that mean that they don't want to buy anything? So this guy, we'll call him Mike, comes up to me and says, "Hey guys looking for anything particular, board shorts, jeans, or button down shirts?" Deep down I wanted to say "no thank you for the five hundred time," but instead I told Mike we weren't interested. He said 'alright' and backed away to go help another customer. While all of this happened, this girl had slipped away from my hand and was already browsing the shirts. I rolled my eyes, smiled, and walked over to her. "Can you carry my drink," she said while I was walking over. She hadn't finished her drink from The Candy Apple Factory just yet. The plastic cup was half filled with a grey concoction topped with whip cream and had black orbs sunk at the bottom.

A thing about me, I dislike shopping so much. Even if I'm the one doing shopping for myself, I get tired super easily. If you ask my mom, she'll agree with me. For some weird reason, my legs get tired, my eyes get droopy, and my heart rate drops which are all signs that indicate I'm sleepy. I get so tired that I'll stop whatever I'm doing and sit down whenever I get a chance whether that be on the floor or on a shelf.

After helping her pick out a shirt for her uncle, which took about twenty minutes, we decided to leave the mall and go back to my car. Remember how I said that it was a rainy Saturday, well it was still raining when we decided to leave. So me being the nice gentleman I am, I opened the blue umbrella and held it over her head while the rain washed over me. She smiled the whole way to my car almost like she was mocking me but I didn't care, I actually thought it was cute. Once we got in my car, I sped out of the Food Court parking lot and headed for the freeway. As I drove down the freeway, I asked her what she wanted to do next. She sat in the passengers seat for a while and thought about what to say next. By the time she answered, I was already reaching the sports park. "We should go eat, I'm kind of hungry," she told me. I agreed with her and asked where she wanted to go eat. "Chick Fil-A," she shouted at me in the car. In the blink of an eye, I turned the car around and gassed it to Chick Fil-A.

The line for the drive through at this restaurant is always long so by the time I finally got there, we had to wait about ten minutes before our orders were taken. To pass the time, we decided to listen to music. I put my playlist on and she gave me this look of disapproval that pierced right into my soul. "What's wrong with my music," I asked. "Let me put a song on TRUST me babe,"  she pleaded. She grabs my phone, unlocks it with her fingerprint, and puts on a song by Khalid. I don't remember what song it was but she just kept singing to the song, yelling at the top of her lungs. When we both ordered and got our food, I drove to the event center and parked right along the resaca that runs parallel to it. I remember opening my Chick Fil-A sauce while she pulled out her phone so we could watch something on Netflix.

I finished all of my meal but when I turned my head to face her, she had finished her sandwich but not her fries. She shoved her bag of fries towards me and said in a sassy voice, "Here, I don't want them anymore." I loved her sarcastic, sassy attitude she had. It was maybe around six o'clock once we were done eating and at this point, we both did not know what to do. I do not remember if it was my idea to go see a movie or if it was hers but the next thing I knew, my car was in drive and we were on our way to the dollar movies.

I should have never taken her to the dollar movies in the first place

It was not the right place, she deserved better and I let her down.

I wish that I would have thought about the consequences sooner.
