You dreaded waking up in the morning.
Not for the "I'm so quirky!!! I sleep all day OwO" reason you're thinking. No, it was more... utter dread of living in a society such as the one you lived in now.
The society of villains and heroes. To put it simply, the world was filled with Quirked and Quirkless people alike. You were fortunate enough to be one of the Quirked.
Your quirk was actually quite remarkable: you could summon anything at will. Just shove a hand in your pocket, and then you got what you need.
That wasn't the problem, though. It was the fact that you had a soulmate. Now that... that was rare.
80% of people in the world had Quirks. Not so surprising, right? Well, less than 10% of people had soulmate marks and you were one of the extremely "lucky" ones who had one.
It was a simple black mark on your right forearm, the exact size of someone's hand, but with the look of a misshapen circular object. You hated it with every ounce of your being.
Why?
Because you hated the idea of soulmates. It was all too cliche.
Oh my god!!! I'm one of the special ones who's destined to be with someone who I may not even get along with UwU!!!
The thought of that made you cringe. You were still somewhat grateful that you had someone, however.
You groggily got out of bed after contemplating feigning sickness. It was the first day, after all; who wouldn't be nervous?
After about twenty minutes, you were dressed in a knee-length black skirt, a floral blouse, white sandals, a flower crown, and you were carrying a pastel pink handbag. You had on eyeliner and mascara, with a light dusting of blush across your cheeks.
You had no idea who you were dressing up for, but you felt cute nonetheless.
You were just glad that the all-powerful and amazing U.A. High didn't have a dress code.
(A/N: I know in the canon show they have a dress code but I literally said this wasn't gonna go by the canon timeline so eh.)
You ran downstairs and grabbed a piece of toast, slathering a thin layer of butter and jelly on it. Your mom shook her head and laughed.
"Both jelly and butter? How scandalous!"
You giggled and took a bite out of it. Being about 17, you were able to drive yourself to and from school, taking a huge weight off of your mom's shoulders.
"Okay, mom! I'm off! I love you!"
"Love you, too, sweetie! See you later!" she called out to you before you shut the front door, shoving the last bit of the toast in your mouth.
You hopped in the driver's seat in your car, sloppily tossing your bag in the passenger seat.
"And, to school I go," you thought, putting the car in reverse and pulling out of the driveway.
~Time skip to your class with Aizawa~
"Hi. I'm Shouta Aizawa. Nice to meet you," the monotone teacher said at the head of the class, his black, greasy hair falling around his face and on his shoulders.
"Call me Mr. Aizawa, though."
You stifled a yawn as he started explaining the hero program.
"Blah blah blah hero blah blah blah blah costume blah blah blah gym..."
His voice was boring. You wished you could sleep, but, since it was the first day, you knew it would be impossible. You were just lucky you were sitting in the back.
"Hmm... I wonder if I could read fanfiction right now," you wondered, opening a new tab on your already-open computer (due to him showing a follow-along presentation). You quickly opened your favorite fanfiction website, searching up Eraserhead x Reader fanfiction. You almost giggled, but you held back.
You clicked on a particularly interesting fanfic. The title read How to Get a Hero Off in 30 Different Ways. Your face covered in blush as you read the first few paragraphs.
"Getting off to a quick start, I see," you thought as you scrolled through the piece quickly.
You quickly switched back to the presentation tab, though, as you had the creepy feeling of being watched. You shoved the feeling aside.
You switched back and forth like that until you finished the fic, your face almost completely red.
"Damn... I'll have to read that again," you thought, closing the fanfiction tab and focusing back on the presentation.
You were surprised you didn't get caught, with how quiet everything was and how little the students were paying attention to Mr. Aizawa. You blew it off as sheer luck and coincidence.
The bell rang and you gathered your things. You were almost out the door when you heard the oh-so-boring voice of Mr. Aizawa.
"[L/N], I need to speak with you."
You gasped and gulped, turning around and walking toward your teacher's desk.
"I know you were focused on something else during class, because you were the only one actually looking at their computer. Either you're a really good student, or you were doing something else. What was it?"
You closed your eyes and took a breath before opening them back up quickly. You'd been caught. It wasn't like it was the first time it had happened, but it was still so awkward.
"U-Um, I was reading so-some fanfiction," you muttered, internally facepalming. Why couldn't you keep it in your pants?
He honest-to-god laughed. He laughed for a solid thirty seconds before turning to you with a slight smirk on his face.
He got up and placed a soft hand on your forearm, before saying, "Don't read any more fanfiction in my class, [L/N]."
His hand stayed on your arm just a second too long before he removed the hand and sat back down in his chair, turning away from you as he coughed awkwardly.
"You can get out of my classroom now," he quipped, making you come to your senses and bolt out of the room.
After a second of racing down the hall, you stopped in front of a random class and pressed yourself against the wall. You caught your breath before you instinctively lifted your sleeve, looking for the black mark on your arm.
Instead of a black, empty patch on your arm, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple was swirling around the misshapen circle. Your heart pounded.
"Mr. Aizawa is my soulmate!"
~*~*~
A/N: Yo! It's Sun! I'm sorry if this sucked ass. I wrote it in like an hour and a half (with breaks in between, obviously). I have no idea how to write slowburn, so this is gonna be kinda fast-paced. The characters are probably going to be OOC, too, so I'm sorry for anything that may be incorrect or whatnot.
Anyway, you found out Shouta was your soulmate! Lolol, I wish he was my soulmate... *sighs dreamily*
I worked really hard on this chapter, and I hope you enjoyed! If you could vote on this for me, that would mean the WORLD! No pressure, though.
Anyway, have a nice morning/afternoon/day/evening/night!
