Chapter 15

The next time you were in school, you felt an odd feeling around you. Like something bad was bound to happen- although you knew nothing would.

Hopefully.

Currently, you were sitting in Hizashi's class, him going on and on about some project he was having the class do. There were collective groans and sighs as he told, in detail, how much work everyone would have to do.

"I know you guys can do it! You're all great workers, and if you work hard enough, you'll get it done in no time! Now, I'm giving you the rest of class to work on the project. If you have any questions, just come up to me and ask, okay?"

Everyone except you groaned in response. You nodded happily and immediately got to work.

Since he knew he needed to observe everyone or nothing would get done, he started to walk around the classroom.

Once he got to your desk, he paused, leaned down, and said softly, "You understand everything well enough? If you have questions, just let me know, okay?"

"Of course, Yamada-sensei."

Just as Hizashi was about to walk away, you said, "W-Wait, sensei, I have a question."

He smiled and leaned down again. "Go ahead."

He discreetly let your fingers intertwine, the small touch sending sparks through you.

"Do you think... we could go out tonight? I feel like we haven't been on a date in so long..."

He smiled even wider and nodded. "I don't see why not. We can talk about it after class, okay?"

You suppressed your smile and went back to work, feeling him squeeze your hand before getting back up to walk around.

Poking your back, Uraraka whispered, "Don't think I didn't see that, [Y/N]-chan."

You blushed and giggled before, once again, returning to your work.

The rest of class went by rather quickly, with nothing more of interest happening. You were still giddy with excitement at the thought of being able to go on a date with Hizashi.

So, once the bell rung and everyone packed up their things, you made sure to deliberately put yours up as slow as possible.

As Uraraka left to catch up with Tsuyu, she pinched your side and mumbled, "Have fun!"

The classroom became silent after everyone left.

"Where do you want to go for dinner tonight?" Hizashi asked as he watched you walk to his desk.

"Hmm... Not sure. Got any ideas?"

He shook his head. "We could just go back to my place...?"

You laughed. "I want to go on a date, not hang out at your house. Figure it out, and text me when you do."

You rushed up to kiss him on the cheek before running out of his classroom, albeit a little clumsily, and headed to your next class.

The bell finally rang, indicating it was lunch time.

"Come sit with us, [Y/N]-chan! You can see your boyfriend later!"

You rolled your eyes and laughed at Uraraka. "Not today, love. I promise I'll sit with you tomorrow, though, okay?"

She sighed but forced a smile and waved you off.

Since you knew you'd be having dinner with Hizashi later, you opted to have lunch with Shouta in his classroom.

When you got there, you knocked timidly.

"Come in." His monotone voice never failed to make you smile, even if it seemed to others that it had no emotion at all. You knew just how affectionate and emotional Shouta could be, for better and for worse.

"Good afternoon, Aizawa-sensei!"

You knew how much calling him that annoyed him and you loved getting under his skin.

"How many times have I told you to stop calling me that and just to call me Shouta?"

You giggled. "But it's not very formal to just call you 'Shouta,' is it?"

He sighed and made grabby hands towards you. "Today has been draining. I wanna hold you..."

You knew, even if he was affectionate towards you, it was still hard for him to be. It made moments like these even sweeter.

You let your bags fall to the floor and embraced him. "I missed you, Shouta..."

He kissed your forehead and twirled a piece of your hair around his fingers. "I missed you, too." His other arm was placed comfortably on your waist as he held you tight.

You two just sat like that for a moment, him eventually giving up playing with your hair to just hold you close.

He smelled... so nice. He didn't smell particularly of anything, but so much of everything and it was just so very him. It always made you feel calm and content.

"I love you."

You never got tired of hearing those words, either. You adored just being able to hear those three words, those eight letters roll across his tongue, just for you.

You didn't have to respond. He knew you felt the same.

"I love you so much, [Y/N]. You don't even know. It's... unbearable, at times. I wish I could just hold you like this forever. I love you."

You squeezed his body tighter to your own and mumbled, barely audible, "I love you more than words can describe. More than life itself."

Regardless of how Hizashi made you feel, you could never deny that Shouta made you feel... more? No, it wasn't more, it was just...

More intense.

Shouta was a closed-off man, by nature. He didn't let people in easily, so for him to be so accepting of you made you feel all sorts of butterflies in your tummy. He would never show affection like this to anyone else, you were sure of it.

You had to be, for your own sake.

Neither of you said much of anything after that, but the way he held you close said more than enough.

His heartbeat thumped in his chest, bringing you a sense of calm that lulled you into some type of sleep, regardless of the fact you were still standing up.

Once he realized you were asleep, he smiled, and carried you over to his bright yellow (seriously, bright yellow? for a quiet and closed-off guy, he sure as hell chose the brightest things) sleeping bag and tucked you away in it, mentally noting to write you a pass for your next class. He couldn't just wake you up, after all.

You were too cute.

A/N: haha.... i know i said i'd post like, two weeks ago (idk if it was that long i'm just too lazy to check haha,,) but um, i hope this is ok,, i'm farther in BNHA than i ever have been before and i know that i kinda (very much) changed how shouta acts in this chapter but it's more canon-compliant than before so yay? idk. i love you all.
