I had went into my book room and as I sat the doorbell rang

I opened the door

And a short teenage girl stood in front of me

"We don't want it"

She raised an eyebrow

"Is Madison here?"

Yes but I'm not letting you see her

"She's studying"

"Oh...okay. Mr...?"

"Lockwood"

"Okay...Mr..Lockwood. I just..I'm new here, I live next door. And she's the only girl my age that lives close. She helped me get back home the first day I moved in because I got lost..and she doesn't go to our school..."

"What's you're name darling?"

"How old are you?"

"I turned 17 two weeks ago"

"What do you need my daughter for exactly?"

"She doesn't need friends. She has family"

She turned to leave

But I called after her

"Kalani. Her curfew is at 7, you may stay over until 9. You can work your way up to sleep overs and such. Understand?"

She nods with a soft smile

"And kalani?"

"Do you have any problems?"

"Do you have the anger part of that aswell?"

"And my daughter. Is she safe with you?"

She ran down the stairs

I gesture to the door

"Kalani?"

The girl nods and gives a simple smile

"Maddie take her to your room please"

She nods "okay daddy"

As she turned I grabbed her arm and said a few soft simple words

"Don't mess up, I don't want to have to be the bad guy and punish you today"

She nodded and ran up to her room

I simply went back to my book room
