Maddie's pov

It's almost Christmas
And Mrs marshmallow says I may get a new home as a Christmas present.
A new mommy or daddy for now

I'm five
And Mrs marshmallow says my chances of getting a home are higher because I'm tinier and cute

I didn't realize how soon I'd get a home

And I didn't realize that I'd hate it.

A man named drake came and got my today

He's really tall

His hair is kinda long

He drives a black truck

And he told me I could play any song I wanted talk.

We got to his house

It was big

It seemed nice

But things aren't always as they seem.

December 25th 2008

We always wake up extra early at the foster home to open presents

Even if their isn't many

I went and woke drake up

He seemed grumpy today

"MADISON ITS TOO FUCKING EARLY"

My little face flushed as he back handed me

"Go back to sleep! And don't make a sound"

I didn't understand

I ran back to my room

Did I mention my room is in the attic?

He says I'm to be seen and not heard.

He finally came up and got me

He had a box in his hand

He gave it to me and I opened it

It was a teddy bear

"Merry Christmas Madison"

I nod

"Merry Christmas Drak-"

"Don't call me that!"

I jumped back

"S-sorry!"

He just grabs me

"Call me father Or daddy, Understand Madison?"

"But you aren't m-"

He raised his hand and I whimper

"OKAY DADDY!"

That night I learned a lot of rules

Sadly they were all painful

January 20th 2019

"MADISON"

I finsh curling my hair and run down stairs

"Finsh setting the appetizers, make sure we have the correct ice, turn the sound system on. Light the candles and turn the lights by the pool on"

"Yes sir"

He smiles and kisses my forehead

"Homework done?"

"Yes dr-"

"What was that?"

"Yes father"

He smiles "good."

He tilt his head
And that was my que to go

I took it
I went fast

3 pm

My "father" walks in and hands me a paper

I read it and my heart drops

"I'll get a better grade next ti-"

"QUIET!"

I nod

"Fix the grade in biology"

I nod once Agian

"May I have my 30 minutes outside now?"

He tilts his head as my que to go

I get 3 hours outside
For every 5 days

I usually go for a walk to the park

But something else caught my attention

The uhaul truck

The girl with dark brown hair that was pulled into a pony tail

A shorter girl with glasses

The two little boys

The dog

The happiness

"Hey I'm kalani!"

Maddie be quiet maybe she'll walk away
