Russel flew into the President's Palace, Chloe (well her in the box) in his arms. ‘It’ll be ok Chole. Come out now. Wait, your still,’ Russel told her telepathically but never finished his sentence. He was going to tell her that she was still in the box, but he had already heard an ‘ow’ emit from the box. By the time President Snow had gotten home, Russel had gotten Chloe to calm down (which took quite a while). When Mister Coriolrus Snow walked through the door, he was met with two furious looking teenagers. They were both standing there at the door, arms crossed, staring him down. “Hi dad” Chloe said through gritted teeth, tilting he head in a way that made the president uneasy. “Why would you do this?” Russel shouted. “Why’d you put the victors back in the games?!” “I did it because I had to.” the president replied. She said “Oh really? You had to put your kids in the games. You just had to!”
“You’re not my kids.” he said. The teens looked taken aback. ‘What does he mean we’re not his kids?’ Chloe asked inside her head. ‘I don’t know.’ Russel replied. They looked back at the man who apparently wasn't their dad with confused looks on their faces. President Snow said “I adopted you both after your years in the Hunger Games. You both had extraordinary talents, so the Capitol took you for testing. I was only going to keep you for a year or two, then I found out one of you is a genius and the other became a Capitol favorite. We altered the memories of the testing and your old families. You two aren’t even related, to be honest.” They looked at each other with a mix of shock and horror. “Then how,” “do we do,” “this?” they say alternating sentences. “I have no idea,” their fake father said, “It must have been a side-effect from the testing.” President Snow walked off saying, “The reaping is next week.”
