I must be careful not to get stuck,
In my own little universe.
One that's simply so much better,
That the oblique world,
We are so accustomed to.
Your own little universe,
Where there's only here,
Where there's only now.
Never do we have to worry,
About trivial standards,
Or high, unachievable expectations.
But that's a small universe,
A tiny one, at that.
Barely a blip,
In the infinite fabric,
That is life.
But that universe shall keep us afloat.
And we shall hang on to it.
As the hard waves of life,
Rage on,
Beneath us.
