I decide that I'm bored and I remember a prank on YouTube where you put fake blood on yourself and pretend to be hurt to get people's reactions. I'll have to use my own blood though because these people can smell if the blood is real or not.
I run upstairs and inform Ariana of my plan, and she puts up a temporary illusion on me to make my head look all bruised and my eye all swollen. Pulling out a pocket knife, I cut my palm and rub my hand on my head so it looks like I hit my head pretty damn hard.
After that I walk to the kitchen where I'm going to the scene of the 'accident'. I cut my palm again, squeeze some blood on the floor around me, and watch as my hand heals in seconds. Putting away my knife, I lie down on the floor holding my head and groaning. It doesn't take long before someone speeds in here.
"Amanda! What happened?!" Klaus asks, slight panic showing on his face. Damn, he's hotter in person.
"Nothing, I'm fine." I say casually. He picked me up off the ground set me on the counter.
"What happened?" He repeats.
"I was trying to grab the cereal but it was too high up so I stood on the counter. I slipped and fell." I lie.
"You're lying."
"Why would I lie?" I ask nervously.
"You don't get a black eye from falling off the counter and there's no cereal out. Who did this to you?" He asks stubbornly. Think of something Amanda!
"There was this witch here earlier, she said she was trying to do the world a favor and get rid of the abomination so..." I trail off thinking of what else to say.
"So?" He asks.
"So, I called her a few choice words and she threw a punch at my face. I got a few punches in too so no big deal." I say shrugging. He bites his wrist and holds it out to me but I shake my head 'no'. I didn't think it would go this far.
"Either you do it voluntarily or I will make you. You and, you know...that could be hurt." He says pointing to my stomach.
"Fine." I give in. He puts his wrist to my mouth and I drink for two seconds before I pull away from him. He still looks weary but doesn't say anything about it.
"Oh crap, I have to clean this up. Sorry about the mess." I fake apologize.
"Don't bother, I'll get someone to do it. You're peculiar. You got in a fight and probably got a concussion as well as you losing a lot of blood, and you're apologizing because you got blood on the floor?" He asks half amused half worried.
"Don't forget the black eye from the witch." I point out. He scowls at the thought of a stranger being in his home.
"Keep yourself out of harms way from now on, will you, love?" He asks walking out.
"I promise nothing." I say smirking. It wasn't the reaction I was expecting but it was something.
After he left, I ran upstairs to see Ariana. She takes off the illusion and I clean off the blood.
"We need to go to the quarter while they're out." I say quickly. She nods but before we leave she stops me.
"Let me just try something." She says softly. I nod and she mutters some stuff in another language. It feels like I'm wrapped in a blanket. I look over at her in curiousity.
"It worked! I must be pretty powerful!" She says excitedly.
"What do you mean?" I question.
"Remember last night we were talking and you said I would need to be extremely powerful, and I said like the most powerful witch in the world?" She asks.
"Does that mean you can do pretty much anything?" I ask happily.
"Well, I just put a hardcore protection spell on you, so I would say yes." She says laughing. We link arms and head to the quarter.
We run up to the shop and see the lady locking up the place.
"Hey! Hey!" I call out.
"We're closed, sorry." She says, unapologetically. For God's sake, she's smiling!
"I just need a teeny tiny little herb. Please." I plead.
"Which herb?" She asks.
"Wolfsbane." I say quietly. That catches her attention.
"Wolfsbane? That's a poison. You going to kill a wolf?" She asks.
"Just a little one." I say, hoping she gets the message. She looks down at my stomach and then looks back up at me.
"Give me a minute." She says, walking back in the shop. Soon she walks back out with two bottles in her hand.
"Cut it with gypsum weed and put a few drops in some hot tea, that should do it." She says. She stops me when I go to hand her the money.
"It's an ugly town for wolves, you're doing the right thing." We walk away after that. Right now she's tipping off Marcel's men about me being in the quarter. So, Ari and I just have to wait.
