I was laying in bed with my eyes closed pretending to sleep when I heard footsteps outside the door. I knew it was Klaus. He walked in and went over to my bag and pulled out the bottle of Wolfsbane. He puts it up to his nose trying to figure out something.
"I didn't use it, you know." I tell him. He closes the bottle and puts it back.
"You're awake." He states.
"Could barely sleep all night. This house is like a freaking swamp sauna." I say again quoting Hayley.
"What stopped you? You could've been free all of this. Of me." He asks staring out the window.
"I still have scars, both physical and mental, from before I ran away from my parents, they beat me to hell and back. One day, I got sick of it and I ran. After that, I was living on the streets until I found Ariana. She took me in when I was only thirteen. Ariana has been my mom and best friend for the past fourteen years. She taught me lots of things but there were only a few that stuck."
"And what were those?" He asks.
"The first is that family fights, it means they care. It's when they stop fighting that you should be worried. The second is that you fight for your family." I tell him. He sits next to me on the bed.
"Both very true." He agrees.
"My baby, our baby, has your family and Ariana, aside from Ariana, I have nobody. So, I'm going to fight for this baby...until it's born."
"What do you mean 'until it's born'?" He asks, panic clear in his voice.
"Aside from Rebekah not hating me, and Elijah pretending to like me because I'm pregnant with his niece or nephew, you don't want me here. This is your town, your house, and your child, so if I'm not wanted I'll leave, even if it means leaving my son or daughter behind. At least they'll have an actual family." I say sadly, looking down at my hands. I feel a finger under my chin pushing my head up and now I'm face to face with him.
"You're right, this is my town and this is my house, but that is our child, Amanda. Are you so blind that you can't see that my family and I do want you here? Rebekah has never been so happy to have a friend even if she doesn't express it well, Elijah has a not-so-little crush on you, and I want you here. Don't forget, you're also the mother of this child and he or she will need their mother. So, even after you have this child, I'm never letting you go." He says walking to the door.
"Wait!" I call out. He turns to see what I want.
"Yes?"
"I had someone do some digging for you and I found out something interesting. You are going to want to hear this." I say smirking.
"Please do tell, love."
"I know what Marcel's secret weapon is." I tell him casually. He looks at me stunned.
"And pray tell what is it?" He asks.
"Her name is Davina, she's the witch that wasn't killed in the harvest. She's being held in an attic. You can get a witch to tell you a more specific location because I'm going to try and get some sleep." I say, yawning.
"I'll have someone see to the air conditioning." He says on his way out the door.
"Whether they realize it or not, you're a better man than your brother will ever be." I whisper, hoping he didn't hear it but I know he did.
I wake up and realize that today's when Hayley went through Elijah's journals, but I'm not going to do that. So, I spend the day eating ice cream and watching Netflix, but that gave me the idea to search up the show. Unsurprisingly, it's not there.
I just watch tv for awhile until I notice that it's nighttime. I go outside to get some air and admire the sky until I remember that Hayley is supposed to see a wolf standing in the trees but I see no wolf. I was so deep in thought that I didn't hear someone sneak up behind me.
"You're not supposed to be out here." I turn and see a black lady with really curly hair standing there with her hand on her hip.
"Who are you?" I ask defensively. This situation seems familiar but I can't remember why.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I'm Sabine, we met I'm one of Sophie's friends." She says smiling. That smile is so fake.
"You're one of the witches.
"Sophie just asked me to come...keep you company while everyone's out. You know the child you're carrying is part vampire part werewolf. You and Klaus made something special." She tells me. It suddenly hits me what's going on.
"I don't even know what...it is." I tell her, putting my hand on my stomach.
"You know, I can do something about that if you want. I mean find out if it's a boy or girl." She offers. Again, I know this is a trap or it will be one in the near future.
"I thought you couldn't do witchy stuff around here." I mumble.
"It's not magic, just an old trick my grandmother taught me. Come on, you have to be a little curious." With that we head to the kitchen.
"Just lie down on the counter." She says pulling out a necklace with a crystal on the end. I lie down and she starts swinging the necklace around over my stomach.
"What do you see?" I ask already knowing the answer. Or so I thought.
"I see a boy-"
"A what?!" I scream. She jumps and drops the crystal. Before she can say anything I run out of the room and up to my bedroom. I spent the rest of the night pacing back and forth until I fall asleep.
