Josie POV
It was the first day of classes. My least favorite time of the year. I walked to the main office to get my class list with Lizzie. I was quite happy with my schedule until the one person I didn't want to see walked through the door.
"Well if it isn't the actual devil in the flesh." Lizzie said. I stayed silent and just looked down at my feet. Penelope noticed and almost looked sorry for me.
"I'm not here to set your world on fire, I'm here to pick up my class schedule." Penelope said picking up a paper with her name on it.
"Oh would you look at that 6 out of 7 of my classes with the one and only Josie Saltzman. This is going to be such a good year." As Penelope said this my heart dropped. It was true we almost had every class together. She was probably going to my whole Jr year experience 10x worst.
"Oh please Josie just remember to sit as far from her as humanly possible." Lizzie said placing a hand on my shoulder. Penelope walked out slowly but once she reaches the door she turns a blows me a kiss and says "See you in class Josie." And then walks out. My cheeks were bright red. She really did that, she just loves to confuse me. Yesterday she making fun of me, but today she's being flirty. Jesus Christ that woman.Penelope POV
I was so happy, I could shout from the rooftops! Me and Josie have classes together I get to see her everyday. I like to believe Josie still loves me but refuses to show it because of Lizzie is, well not my biggest fan. Dr. Saltzman doesn't like me much either. When me and Josie were dating we had a "family" dinner together and even thought Dr. Saltzman was the head master we didn't know each other well. During the dinner Lizzie just list reasons why he shouldn't like me. Of course he listens to her and believes everything she says.
I smile as I walked to my first period class that I happen to have with Josie. I enter the class behind Josie. She sits in the front of the class. I decided to sit to the sit right next to hers. I know we do a lot of parter work so this was the perfect way Josie could not ignore me.
"Hey." I simply said. I was trying to be nice because I remembered Josie was a little sensitive.
"What's your plan? Why sit next to me if you broke up with me?" Josie asked determined to figure me out.
"Okay so we aren't really going to do anything today you guys are welcome to talk and do whatever." The teacher says. God I loved this class already.
"I sat next to you because your nice to look at. And my evil plan is .... nope not gonna tell you that." I said looking at her with almost literally heart eyes. I wasn't lying when I said she was pretty to look at. Josie was blushing.
"So what about you? Why are you trying to ignore me?" I asked.
"Because you broke my heart! And now you trying to win me back. Well you lost me a long time ago." Josie said. This hurt a little but I'm too stubborn to just abandon my "evil" plan.
"You never asked if what I did broke my heart? Because it did, a lot!" I said this with passion.
"then....why did you do it?" Josie asks with a small adorable voice.
"I did it because if I didn't do it then I would be miserable, I loved you and I always will, but Lizzie would never let that happen. The fact that you could maybe love me, more than you loved her was something she couldn't live with." I said. I felt like crying but we were in class and this was not the time. Josie was shocked with my response as if she never knew how I felt.
"im sorry....i didn't know." She said, for once looking me in my eyes. For a moment we just stared at each other for a while, until the bell rang. I walk as fast as I could out the class and skipped the rest of my classes because I needed to think for a minute. It was long day.
