Chapter 13: The Merge

Josie's POV
I rushed over to my room. To my surprise I found my dad and mom there. I ran into my mothers arms. "I've missed you so much!" I said as I hugged her tightly. She didn't seem to be as happy as I was. I looked over to Lizzie she looked just as confused as I was.
"Mom? Dad? what's wrong?" I asked. My dad looked down at the floor with an heavy frown. There was a long pause before anyone said a word.
"I think you're gonna want to sit down for this." Mom says. With this me Lizzie and I sit down at the same time, eager to hear what our parents have to say.
"We never knew when we were going to tell you this but you need to know. Your father and I have been keeping a huge secret from you guys." Mom says. Lizzie and I look at each other both of us share the same confused expression on our faces.
"You guys are well aware that you are apart of the Gemini Coven, but what you didn't know was being apart of that coven and being twins you two would have to.....merge. This means that when you both turn 22 you would have to perform a ritual. During this ritual you would have to battle and the stronger twin would absorb the weaker twin. Your father and I have been looking everywhere for a loophole, but we've come up with nothing and we've been searching for 16 years." She says. My heart dropped to my stomach. This can't be true. I will not kill lizzie and I don't believe Lizzie would kill me either. Neither Lizzie or I have said a word.
"No this can't be true. There has to be a loophole, there's always a loophole with magic." Lizzie says. Tears were streaming down my face. I just looked straight down to the floor, unable to say a word.
"Sweetie we've been looking for 16 years....we've found nothing. We thought you guys had a right to know, just in case we don't find a loophole....you guys would be prepared for whatever may happen." Mom says. My dad moved and sat next to me. He wiped my tears gently.
"I was hoping we would have found a solution by now so this wouldn't be as hard as it is to tell you." He said.
"We should give you girls some time to process this. Come on Caroline." My dad says while walking out the door, leaving Lizzie and I together. Though we were together I felt all of the sudden alone.
"I need to go Lizzie. I um I need to take a walk to clear my head." I told Lizzie. She simply nodded and with that I went to the only other place I felt safe in.
I knocked lightly and after a short while the door creaks open.

yo sorry i took 5ever to update but when penelope left in the mmf episode i was gone. i've never cried so hard in my life. legacies truly lost their best character smh. but i'm still watching bc miss kaylee bryant and danielle rose russell has me in the tightest chokehold🥵.
