Penelope's POV
It was third period when the intercom rang.
"All students participating in the annual flag football game, come to the main office. Students coming to watch, fan buses are waiting at the main entrance." Dr. Saltzman said over the intercom. I hate sports with a passion but Josie was on the team, so I decided to go and support. I walked to the main entrance when I saw my favorite wolf boy, Jed, we've been friends since I first got to The Salvatore Boarding School. I was scared and confused and he made it easier. We haven't had time to talk much but we're still close.
"Jed. You're going to the game?" I asked as I walked towards him.
"I am now and I thought you hated sports." He said smiling.
"I do but you got to make sacrifices for the ones you love." I said as we walk on the bus and sat together.
"Ah you Josie got back together. Damn I missed a lot." He said. The bus was packed with a bunch of sport lovers with signs, even though Dr. Saltzman told the team they had to lose.
When we final reached Mystic Falls high school we all sat in the bleachers wait for the other team. While I was waiting I saw Josie with Lizzie. Lizzie was literally having a panic attack. I moved closer so I could her what she was saying.
"We have to win! If we don't win those bitches will taunt us for the rest of the year! I can't have that! This is supposed to be a good year!" Lizzie shouted.
"Lizzie you know we can't do that. Dad said we have to lose so we don't draw too much attention to the school." Josie says in a calm voice. Lizzie stormed away to talk to her dad. I walk to Josie. She seem sad.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked as I sat next to her. She laid her head on my shoulder.
"Lizzie has been in a horrible mood since I told her we were back together. And no matter what I say, she's still mad at me." Josie says.
"She just doesn't understand. I love you and I will never stop loving you. Just give Lizzie sometime and space and she should ease up to the idea." I said. Josie looked up at me and kissed me gently.
"I love you too." Josie said. We just sat there in each other's arms waiting for Dr. Saltzman.
"Okay team! Group huddle!" Dr. Saltzman shouted. Josie kisses me one last time and then ran off to join the rest of the team.Josie's POV
"Okay does everyone understand the plan? You guys have to lose." Dad says.
"This is outrageous! We are better than them! We can beat them without our powers." Lizzie says.
"Lizzie, sweetie you know we can't do that. We don't need the locals to find out what our school really is." Dad says. Lizzie looks in disbelief and walks away yet again.
"Okay guys have fun and don't forget, you have to lose." Dad says and walks away to meet Dorian. They walk away together. Mystic High's team confidently walks out of their gym.
"Who excited for another easy win." One of the girls says. Lizzie is red with anger. The referee meets both team in the middle.
"Okay kids remember no tackling. We'll start the game off with a coin toss. Mystic High, heads and Salvatore, tails." The referee says then flips the coin.
"Tails. It's Salvatore's ball." The referee says handing Lizzie the ball. We all get in position.
"Ready! Hike!" Lizzie shouts. We all start running. Lizzie throws the ball to Caleb and he catches it and makes a touchdown. The crowd was screaming.
"Lizzie we're supposed to lose. That doesn't look like losing to me." I whispered.
"Dad left. He left. His rules don't matter any more, so we are go"ing to win this dumb game." Lizzie said.
I couldn't argue with her. So I followed along against my own will. We were scoring point after point. After each point I would look into the bleachers and watch Penelope cheering me on. She hates sports, so her being here meant a lot.
The final score was 26-3. We won, but it felt wrong. Dad always tells us to lose so we don't draw to much attention to us but Lizzie loves attention, so there was no stoping her. After winning the team separates to enjoy the hour we have left in town before my dad gets back. I walk towards Penelope.
"Way to go Saltzman." Penelope says as she kisses me gently.
"I know you hated being here." I say.
"What?! I think sports are my new favorite thing. Watching you run up and down a field was probably the hottest thing I've seen in my life." Penelope says.
"Mm are sure about that?" I asked as I grabbed her hand and lead her to dark alley where we could be alone. I rested my head on the bricks wall behind me. Penelope gently leans in and kisses me. She places her hand on my hip and cheek. I deepened the kiss. Her lips were soft and she was the only thing I was thinking of. She then starts kissing my neck.
"There's a cheap motel down the road. Should we get a room?" Penelope asks me. I stared into her eyes for a while before nodding me head. She then continues to kiss me roughly, pinning against the wall. We were about to stop and head to the motel until. We heard a voice.
"Josie! Oh my god! Get a room and get away from her Blair bitch!" Lizzie yells she was covering her eyes and turn her back towards us.
"We have a problem. So please remove you tongue from the devils mouth." Lizzie says walking away. I gave Penelope an apologetic look.
"I'm so sorry but duty calls." I say giving Penelope one last kiss and running to catch up with Lizzie.
