Chapter 6: Detention

Josie's POV
After leaving Penelope in that alley Lizzie lead to the buses where my dad stood. He was red with anger.
"I gave you guys one job! One simple job! The job was to lose, and what did you guys do, you won!" Dad yelled. I felt bad disappointing him but I couldn't do anything about it. Lizzie wasn't going to go through another year of torture by the Mystic high students.
"After winning a game parents are usually supposed to be proud of their kids!" Lizzie yelled back. Lizzie sometimes get very defensive, even if it was Dad. He just shakes his head.
"Detention for a week for the whole team!" Dad shouts. This would be my first time getting a detention and by my own father! Lizzie puts her hands on her hips and sit on the bleachers.
"Are you and Satan getting serious...again?" Lizzie asked. I was shocked she even asked about Penelope, usually she ignored her existence completely. I sat next to her though.
"Lizzie, I really love her. I know she's not the person you thought I'd end up with but she's the love of my life and I don't see us ending anytime soon." I say. I was playing with my bracelet waiting for Lizzie to yell at me, when she didn't. She placed her hand on my shoulder.
"Jo, I gonna be happy for you even though I so do not approve. Just know I'm still not going to be nice to her in the halls." Lizzie said. At least she didn't yell. Lizzie walked away to join Mg on the bus. I laid on the bleachers starting at the sky, thinking about my life. I laid there until I hear the bus honk. I got on to the bus and sat next to Penelope, who saved a seat for me. The bus ride home was long, so long that I fell asleep on Penelope's shoulder.
Once we got home I decided to stay in Penelope's bed room tonight, since tomorrow I have to serve my 2 hour detention. For the rest of the night me and Penelope watch a lot of horror movies and cuddled all night long. It was one of the best nights I've had in a long time.
I woke up with Penelope's arms around my waist. It was 7:39am and classes start at 7:50am.
"Hey, Peez wake up. We have to get ready." I said lightly shaking her. When that didn't work I decided to try something a little different. I kissed her cheek down to her neck to her shoulder and moved lower and lower until she woke up.
"Mm." I heard her say. She yawned and it was the cutest thing I've ever seen.
"Good morning sleeping beauty." I said kissing her cheek and getting up. I started to get dress into nothing but Penelope's clothes.
"If I'm sleeping beauty then that makes you, the beast which is highly incorrect." Penelope said as she got up from her bed. She walked over and kissed me.
"We have to hurry and get to class. If I'm late one more time I get more hours added to my detention." I said. When she finished she grabbed my hand and we walked to first period together.
After probably the longest school day ever I headed to the dreaded detention room. Most of our team was there but so were some other people who had gotten detention this week. I sat in the back of the class next to Lizzie. I didn't notice but when I looked up I saw Rafael. He sat next to me. We had a short 'thing' when me and Penelope broke up but I made sure that he knew it was over once Penelope and I got back together.
An hour past and we still had 2 more to go. I could practically feel Rafael's stare on me. He tapped my shoulder and handed me a note.
"I heard you're back with Penelope, is it true?"
My heart dropped. He didn't even know I'm back with her. He probably wants to start us back up again. I decided to write back instead of ignore him.
"Yes! So you and me are not going to happen if that's what your thinking."
He read the note and then threw it away quickly. I guessing he was mad, he does have anger issues. For the rest of the detention he didn't say anything, until the end. I got up to leave until I felt him grab my arm. I turned around, it was Rafael. Everyone had left already.
"Penelope doesn't have to know." Rafael says.
"No! We are not happening. I'm with Penelope and only Penelope." I said. Rafael let go of my arm but just I was going to leave he kisses me.
"Sure, but when you were with me I doubt you were thinking about Penelope. If you change you mind, you remember where my room is." He said walking out. My mind was going a mile a minute. That just happened! What am I going to tell Penelope? Do I tell Penelope?
