After you'd finished eating and the doctors cleared you as long as you were careful, you'd ended up sitting on the couch with the other Avengers, the TV only playing for background noise.
"So, as much as I'm pretty sure you don't want to talk about it, can you tell us what happened?"
You quickly stopped laughing at the joke Peter was telling you and nodded to your dad.
"Well, okay. Um, well you already know, a few weeks ago I went missing. Well, what happened was, I was walking to the bus stop when someone grabbed me. They knocked me out with one of those chloroform rags. I woke up with my arms tied behind my back in a room with white walls and floors and a white ceiling with white furniture, everything was white. It was too bright. Then, uh, someone walked in and they dragged me to another room where they untied my arms.
"I tried to fight, but this person was really strong and just stopped my fist before using the momentum to knock me backwards onto the ground. Then they just walked out, and locked the door about a billion different ways. After that, no one else came in there until you, Dad. They gave me a small meal twice a day and let me do whatever I wanted in the cell, but no one came in and i didn't, I couldn't get out. It was horrible, lonely. I don't even know why I was there. Nothing happened. It was just... like they were waiting for something. Like they needed permission to do anything else."
Your dad focused on what you were saying. Across the room, Steve furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"Well that's not terrifying at all," Peter said, blinking slowly.
"That doesn't make any sense." Steve said.
"Why would they just..." Clint started.
Natasha finished for him, "Why would they just leave her alone?"
"Unless they had some bigger plan, and Y/n is right about them needing permission." Bruce offered hesitantly, tilting his head as he looked at you.
Peter squeezed a hand you didn't realize he was holding.
"Well, you're here now. And we're not letting you out of our sight until we know you're safe." Your dad said, raising an eyebrow as if daring you to argue.
You shrugged, knowing it was pointless to do so anyway.
