"He won't wear that."I frowned. We had gotten to everyone. He seemed pretty content on everything I bought for everyone else. Now it was Seokjin's turn and he seemed to say no to every single thing.
"Hoseok, this is the 20th time you said that." I sighed. "I'll just buy his on another—"
"He's your best friend, surely that's enough." He was obviously annoyed, eyebrows furrowed and eyes avoiding mine.
I thanked the woman who was helping me out before taking the bags and walking out with Hoseok trailing behind me.
"Did you book a ticket for tomorrow morning?" I asked him as he started to drive back to my home. "My roommate is coming home tonight.."
"Which is why I booked us a flight for tonight." He smiled proudly on the seat next to me. "And we'll be sleeping in my penthouse."
"We?" I was obviously unhappy with that.
He sighed. "I'm not letting you sleep in a hotel nor will I let you sleep at Jungkook's and Jin-hyung's."
"That's why I wanted one for tomorrow morning." I complained. "So we'd just have to drive to the cabin."
"Your boyfriend won't mind that?"
"Wow." I was baffled. "You still think he's my boyfriend after you blatantly said you didn't believe it. Lead me on with that— that look! Then suggest for me to sleep in your penthouse."
"Yes."
"I'm not a whore, Hoseok." I crossed my arms in annoyance looking out the window.
"Chaeyoung, I know you're not dating him."
"Then why did you call him my boyfriend just now?"
"Because you made me believe you two were in the first place!" He argued back. I worried that he was more concerned over that than driving my car right now. "I still don't understand why you'd ever consider him... when I'm the one who has eyes for only you."
He made this hard. I can't even tell if it was blatant manipulation or if he was so insecure that I truly did not like him at all.
"You're insane if you think I'd chose to love him like that over you." I mumbled staring at him, his eyes stuck on the road his anger getting the better of him. "Why did you come to prove something to me, Hoseok? If you believe even the slightest I like Seokjin in that way?"
"I want a chance."
"I want more time." I told him honestly. "Knowing you. Learning what you like and don't like. I want a reason to like you."
"Okay."
"No, don't say okay." My voice broke at that. "I live here. My life is here in Jeju now. Your life will always be in the heart of the city, Hoseok. I can't let you move all your success for me."
"I'll move my headquarters here." He said frantically, stuttering desperately as if he needed to do it. And I could only gaze him with pure strain. "I'll bring my work to you. I'll move here for you. I'd do anything for you."
"It's too much."
"I love you."
Oh god.
I broke. Just like that. The rules don't apply anymore. Now that I wasn't applying to be his assistant. I felt like I was a sin. That I was doing something terribly wrong.
Just because he fell in love with me first.
"What happened to, 'love's for the weak not the mighty?'" My voice was shaky and so was everything else in my body.
