Ashton POV
I was having a very strange dilemma in the morning.
You see, I was living in the same room with my best friend, in a house with people I could call my foster family. The door didn't lock and I was quite sure our saviour, Sarah, would sometimes come up here. We didn't hide anything from her, she knew we were teenage boys and wouldn't be shocked by a condom stash in the drawers or an open tab of porn on the computer.
But what was I gonna do with a big ass bottle that had the sticker 'flavored anal lube' on it in glittering pink? When I bought the most embarrassing bottle possible yesterday, laughing at the flustered Ross who was paying for all of our shit, I didn't consider what to do with it later.
"Hey Dan?" I called toward the bathroom. There was a grunt in response, hardly heard over the shower. "What do I do with the lube?"
"Don't need it now," came a quick strangled answer. It may have been a strange one, and I may have said before that Dan didn't like early showers. But it made sense if I clarified that he had woken with morning wood and was now wanking it in the bathroom.
It happened to all guys, don't judge. And while I wasn't gonna give a hand with that, we were way past being awkward years before we started sleeping in each other's arms.
I ignored the sound of Dan finishing it up in there while I was looking for a hiding place. Soon after he came out, a towel draped around his hips, watching me trying to stuff the bulky bottle in the sock drawer.
"Why are you keeping it anyway?" he asked with a smile.
"Waste not, want not," I said. "You don't care cause you ain't gonna use it anyway."
"My asshole is never going to taste like strawberries, but my dick might. Put it with the condoms like you're owning it, hiding it is just saying there's something freaky going on."
"Maybe Seth might want it," I offered as I chucked it into the nightstand drawer.
On the ride to school, I offered. Seth had provided us with all the know-how on subjects we should know about to not blow our cover, including gay sex. With illustrations, I might add, from his phone, not live. So I thought he had some experience and didn't expect him to blush and stutter that he didn't need it.
"You keep it, y-you might n-need it," he squeaked in abnormally high voice.
"What for?" Dan asked, scrunching his brows together. Seth didn't have an answer and neither did I, but I wasn't gonna throw it.
Despite our protests, Seth once again refused to be seen with us. He also said he wasn't gonna come to the party tonight. There was no hurry, before the year was over we were gonna make homosexuality cool and Seth popular. That was my plan!
And surprisingly, we were well on our way. The group waiting for us in the parking lot was bigger than yesterday, though nowhere near what we had the day before. And they seemed much more comfortable with the fact they were waiting for us than yesterday.
The atmosphere had changed a bit. While yesterday most common comment was 'I know you'll drop this bullshit soon', today it shifted to 'what the fuck, I can't believe this is true, gross', which was a baby step in the right direction.
All the comments were whispered though, not really meant for my ears. The kids were confused. Two most popular guys had confessed to something they should be thrown under the bus for, but they owned up to it. Who should have done the throwing? It would have been different if we didn't out ourselves, or were ashamed of it. Even if we had been straight or homophobic before, it would have changed things. But we came to this school, rocked the socks off everyone and then said we were dating. The poor kids were so muddled - was being gay cool now and they were behind with the times?
