Book XX: The Passion of Orlando

Orlando was born a mortal but the God Eros fell madly in love with the mortal Orlando. So Eros one day disguised himself as a mortal and went to visit Orlando. The two began a conversation and soon, the two where lovers. Orlando and Eros began their sexual relationship and news spread quickly across the city where he lived. Thanolo the son of Petros and Ophel a mortal like Orlando had been in love with Orlando since they where children and he grew jealous of Eros who was going by the name of Ptolm. 

One night when Orlando and Ptolm where having sex, Thanolo climed into their room where the balcony was left wide open. With a knife in hand he began to stab Ptolm, who did not bleed but the knife went straight through and killed Orlando, Ptolm who revealed himself to be the God Eros struck down upon Thanolo who cried at the loss of his beloved at the hands of a jealous rival. Yet the soul of Orlando was still in the room and having seen Eros true form, begged his lover not to punish Thanolo for he did not know any better. 

Thus Orlando gave his life so that Thanolo could see past jealousy and thus after Thanolo no man or woman fell jealousy after they fell in love with another.
