I was laying in my Hospital bed when Madam Pomfrey walked in with a glass of water."I see you're up." She said, smiling at me.
"I am," I replied, returning the smile.
"You had a visitor while you were sleeping, they dropped this off." She said, handing me a leather-bound book, opening it, a note fell out. 'I thought ye might like to have some pictures of yer Mum since you never really got to meet her. -Hagrid.' I smiled at the note, flipping through the first few pages, the first 3 were blank, but eventually, I got to a page that said 'Ophelia Potter - Years One - Seven' I felt like my eyes were bulging out of my head.
"Ophelia Potter? " I asked, dumbfounded.
"Yes, did you not know? You and Harry are cousins, Ophelia was James' sister, sad to say their parents lost both of their children within one month of each other."
I said nothing, only gaped at Madam Pomfrey, flicking through the pages, I saw pictures of a young woman who looked almost exactly like me, but not, almost like a familiar stranger. Pictures of her walking in the hallway, her Slytherin robes pressed flowing behind her. Pictures of her playing Quidditch, in class, hanging out in Hogsmeade, looking as beautiful as I had imagined her. I felt tears begin to well up in my eyes, I tried my hardest not to let any fall, alas a single tear escaped my pooling eyes, falling on the page I was open to and soaking in.
"Can I got to the feast?" I asked, remembering that I had been out for almost a week and gasping when I realized I missed exams. "Wait! What about my exams, how will I make them up!?"
Madam Pomfrey only smiled and responded, "Exams have been canceled, due to recent...." She paused, "events. " I sighed in relief and felt the tightness in my chest that I hadn't noticed, release leaving me feeling calm and relaxed. "You're all set, if you'd like to go to your room, I believe your friends and siblings are waiting for you. The feast begins tomorrow nights at 6 P.M. Classes have been canceled for today, and as it is our last day this year, you will have no classes tomorrow."
"Okay, thank you Madam Pomfrey," I replied. She nodded, smiled, and left the room. I looked over to the table beside me. It was overfilled with candy and notes from my well-wishers. I looked at them, not feeling like doing a wandless spell because it took energy that I don't have. Reaching down to my boot, I pulled out my wand and pointed it at the items on the table.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" I said, swishing and flicking my wand in the movement I'd seen Hermione do so many times. The pile of candy and notes suddenly lifted into the air. As I walked, I formulated a plan. I would go to the Riddle Suite and let everyone know I'm awake and okay, then go to bed. I wasn't hungry, nor thirsty, I was just tired and ready to go to bed.
Once I finally reached the door to the Slytherin common room, I whispered the password and the stone shifted and opened up into a large door, which swung out in front of me. I opened it, and the commotion in the common room stopped. Everyone was staring at me, everyone had stopped talking. I gave a weak smile as I walked, my candy still floating and following behind me.
I was expecting someone to say something, but everyone just looked at me, with mixed looks of worry, pride, and relief. I was glad no one tried to talk to me as I scurried across the room, and up the stairs, to where my siblings and I stayed.
As soon as I opened the door, Ella ran up to me, and hurled herself into my arms, laughing,
"You're okay!" She shouted, laughing giddily.
"Yes, I'm okay!" I replied, laughing just as childishly. She let go of me, stepping back.
"I'm glad you're okay, sis." She said, sounding a lot older than the nine-year-old she was. I didn't say anything to that, I just smiled and ruffled her hair, dragging her along with me to where my friends stood deeper into the room. Hermione, Ariana, and Caitlyn were the first people to walk towards me. All at once, they embraced me in a group hug and started gushing about how much they had missed me, and how glad they were to see me. I went around to everyone, hugging them, trying not to cry. I have such great friends.
