"David Larabee," She laughed flinging herself onto him, "Where is your hat?"
He frowned and pushed her away, brushing off his suit, "My hat?"
"You can't have lost it," Ilios grinned removing her mask, "After the miles of catacomb I traveled to find it."
David gave a scoff, "I should have known. Who else would be smiling during one of these dreadful events."
"They aren't dreadful!" Ilios laughed, "I think they're marvelous."
"I suppose," David muttered wiping his upper lip, "If you have someone pretty to go with."
He pointed across the room, "That's Gianna there. I'm with her, course, that is to say, she most definitely isn't with me."
Ilios laughed heartily, coaxing a small smile from his face.
Her facial expression was sweet with the memory of former times, "The years have been good to you David."
He gave a small scoff and downed another whiskey, "The years perhaps. This last week no."
"Why?" Ilios said with intrigue, "What's happened?"
She gave a small gasp of concern as he lifted his mask to reveal one blackened eye.
"It's funny," He laughed, "But I was just thinking about you."
Ilios smiled in curiosity, "Really? Why?"
"Well," He shrugged, "You're the reason I got hit in the first place."
"Me!" Ilios exclaimed indignantly, "That's impossible, I haven't seen you in years!"
He gestured for her to calm down, "No, no, not directly."
She nodded, that made more sense. If she was going to punch David she was going to make it a whopper worth every second of remembering.
She expected him to go on but he gave up no further information. Instead, he continued his story in his own particular long winded way as he always did.
"Have you any admirers?" He asked with a chuckle.
"No, not many," Ilios admitted looking down and playing with her mask, "Not any at all really."
"You have at least one I'll tell you," He said pointing to his eye with a grumble.
                              "What?" Ilios laughed in amazement.
David shrugged and gave a severe frown, "I think you'd have more than one many fighting for your honor. Your figures improved since I saw you last, your hardly as pudgy as I remeber."
Ilios gasped in horror and laughed.
"Wicked man then and a wicked man still!" She exclaimed.
"Come now," He chuckled flashing a soft smile,  "You know what I mean."
Her eyes twinkled with amusement, "Yes Larabee I know."
"Really though, I said something along those lines, along with you being a bit of a nuisance some of the time and the fella was telling me to take it back."
"And did you?" Ilios asked with great intrest, how funny the whole thing seemed.
"I said I hadn't seen you in years so I couldn't say for sure, but the Ilios Deslter I knew was a spoilt brat!"
                              "You didn't!" Ilios cackled.
David let out a small laugh, "Yes sir I did. And that fella pinned me to the ground."
