Calum's pov:

"What are you planning to do the rest of the night boys?" Joy asked. I looked over at Luke who was too concentrated on stuffing meatballs and pasta down his throat.

"Um, not sure, might watch a movie later on my new computer." I said trying to stay calm and not let any emotion get too strong. The last thing I want to do is give my mum a heart attack. Besides it's been too close a lot of times throughout the years. I looked down at my empty plate, and made a happy face with the knife on the dirty plate.

"Calum, I know it's late, but I have to go down to Miss Traught. You know she's got back pain and poor Mr Traught is so old, he can't help. I'll be back in a few hours, I'm sure you two will be fine on your own right?" My mum asked sounding hopeful. I nodded at her and smiled.

"Tasty food." Luke said with ketchup around his mouth. My mum laughed and nodded thankful.

"You have always seemed to like my food." Mum said to Luke who blushed. I got up and put my plate in the dishwasher. Luke came up behind me and put his in as well. We walked into my room again and I took out my new apple computer. My mum bought it for me not very long ago. I laughed at Luke's face, he looked so satisfied. He always looked this way when he had finished eating lots of food. An idea flew into my head but I was unsure if I should do it or not.

"I suppose you're not hungry anymore." I said and started laughing again when Luke nodded. Then I decided the idea I had just come up with, was a good one. I walked up to Luke, and licked up some of the ketchup. Then I showed Luke my tongue, he noticed the ketchup and his expression went from confused to surprised. I swallowed the ketchup and walked back to the computer and started it, meanwhile Luke disappeared out of the door. I went on Netflix and scrolled through movies.

"Let's watch a series." Luke said when he came back. I nodded and scrolled through the series instead. Luke sat down next to me.

"Doctor Who?" I asked and Luke nodded smiling. I clicked on the first episode and leaned back against the bed, as I turned the computer so Luke also could see.

"Don't look so disappointed." I tell Luke the next morning, when we finally got out of bed and into the kitchen. Luke glance back at the toaster with a disappointed glance.

"How come the bread always turns out burned for me but perfect for you?" Luke asks as he holds up the now burnt toast in his hand. He looked at me sad and then started to spread Vegemite on the toast.

"Because I toast bread like a normal human being. Honestly I have no idea how you can even fail at toasting bread, but somehow you keep succeeding." I say, laughing as Luke pouts and puts lots of Vegemite on my toast. I roll my eyes at him and scrapes it off.

"Luke, your mum's here." Luke looks at me confused and I shrug my shoulders. We walk to the front door, I watch as Luke hugs his mum while I eat on my toast.

"You forgot something did you now Luke?" Liz said looking at Luke expecting Luke to realize. But Luke just stands there.

"It's Monday, right? School day. What do you have to wear to school, Luke." Liz not giving in. And then Luke realizes and smiles innocently.

"Uniform?" Luke asks, but knowing he's right.

"Indeed, Luke. I can't believe you sometimes. The twenty third time was it?" Luke hung his head low and nodded shamefully. Liz and mum laughs and I eat up the last piece of my toast and pats Luke on the shoulder.

"I'm sorry mum." Luke says and takes the uniform from Liz, who is holding it out to him.

"You should be. You have to remember the uniform the next time." She says and Luke nods. Me and my mum looked at each other. Both of us knew that Luke would probably forget it next time as well, because the same thing happens all the time. Luke says thanks to his mum and hugs her goodbye. Then we walk back into the kitchen and he quickly eats up his toast.

"Boys I have to go in a few minutes hurry up." Mum shouts from the top of the stairs. After five minutes I stand by the front door, finished and waiting for mum and Luke.

"I'm done." I shout.

"A minute!" Luke shouts back. After a boring few minutes my mum comes and put her shoes on. And not even a minute after her Luke comes running, looking exhausted.

"Calm down there Luke." Mum says laughing, as Luke's breathing is unstable. When we finally all are about to walk out the door I notice something.

"Uh, Luke. Where's your bag?" I ask him. He looks at me panicked and runs back into the house.

"One day he will win a marathon." Mum says. I laugh and nods.

"Maybe, but he's extremely unfit even though he runs everywhere." I point out. My mum nods agreeing.

"Very good point." My mum says at time same time as Luke runs up to us with his bag in his arms.

"Here's lunch money." My mum says and give us both money. And then walks to the car.

"Should we say anything in school?" Luke whispers to me once we both are sitting in the back seats of the car, with the car radio in the background. I look at him wondering what he means.

"Tell them what?" I ask, Luke shakes his head.

"What do you think?" Luke asks sassily. I shrug, genuinely not having a clue what he's on about.

"Never mind." Luke says and leans back in the seat. I look at Luke confused. Am I stupid or something? What am I missing here? My powers? No way, Luke wouldn't even ask that. Even though Luke is terrible at lying he's great at keeping secrets, well most of the times anyway.
