After we got milkshake, and DID NOT and I repeat DID NOT make hot sweet love. We drive to Fred's house.
Its getting dark, so the streets I drive though seem more eery.
I turn the radio on to break any silence in the streets.
"You like this song?" Will asks, giving me a disgusted glance.
"No!" I shout, punching him. "I just wanted to fill the silence." I shurg.
"Oh, I'm so glad I'm boring you." he punches me back.
"Well if you weren't so boring." I raise my shoulders and kiss my teeth.
He laughs, as we pull into Fred's drive.
We get out the car and walk round the back entrance.
In the centre of his back yard the glow of the fire immunities the soundings.
Fred comes to greet us.
"Hey." he smiles, but mainly at me.
"Hey." Will says loudly, waving his hand in front of Fred's face, who is smiling at me.
He starts at him blankly shaking his head.
Will laughs and swings his arm round Fred's neck. "Sorry man, she's mine." he laughs, looking at me and kissing the air.
"You wish!" I say walking towards the fire and the circle of people gathering it.
I see Charlotte and Jack and give them a happy wave. Charlotte replies but sticking her middle finger up at me. This sends Jack into a fit of giggles. Those two have always been really close, I used to think that Jack had a crush on Charlotte but I'm not so sure.
I spot Hayley and Dominic with there arms round each other. They are our resident couple.
They've been going out for about a year. I used to be really close with Dom but then Hayley came along. I mean don't get me wrong she's nice but I just wish that me and Dom hung out more.
"Hey." I smile, going to sit near them. "I feel like I haven't seen you all summer!"
"We know, we missed you." Dominic says.
We.
When did they start using we.
"Yea we missed you to." I hear Will say sarcastically from behind us.
"Okay let's get one thing straight, you and me aren't a we!" I say as he sits down and rests his head on my sholder.
"Sure we are." he smiles.
"Sure you are." Hayley laughs.
I notice Will take out a cigarette. I grab one from the packet.
"Do you ever buy your own cigarettes?" Will complains.
"Do you ever but your own cigarettes?" I smile smugly.
"Okay let me rephrase that." he says. "Do you ever get somebody else to buy you some of your own cigarettes?"
"Now why would I do that William?" I pop the cigarette in my mouth. "When I have unlimited access to yours."
He scowls. "I hate that I love you Harry Thomson."
"Doesn't everybody." I smile, says sassing away.
I walk into the kitchen to get a drink and see Fred searching in refrigerator.
"Umm, just getting a drink." I inform him.
"Oh yea sure, beer?" He says pulling out a small bottle.
I wave my hand to reply no. "I'm driving."
"Sure, soda?" He asks, putting the bottle back and bringing out another.
"Yea I'll go for that." I smile as he throws me the bottle.
We stand in silence for a moment.
"Look about the other ni-"
"It's-It's okay." I cut him off.
He nodds. "I was really drunk-"
"I said it's okay, okay?" I cut him off again.
"Okay." he smiles.
I smile too. "Come on give me a hug you idiot!" I laugh.
He comes towards me, wrapping his arms around my waist and nestling his head in my neck.
"Get off ma woman!" I hear Will joke from behind us. Unusually Fred jumps away from me.
"Dude, he's joking." I laugh.
Will joins in, really laughing but Fred just laughs awkwardly.
We go back out side and join in with conversation.
"Randy! You would so pick Randy!" Charlotte shouts.
"Ew your so safe! Craig might be the man of your dreams!" Dom shouts back at her.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Will laughs.
Hayley sighs. "There auguring again."
I laugh. "What about?"
Charlotte and Dom go to talk but Hayley cuts them off. "Okay so your parents give you the choice, you either have and arranged marriage with somebody called Craig, who by the way you will never see or talk to till the wedding. Or you marry Randy, your best friend, like Will. Which would you choose?"
I laugh. "Randy, of corse."
Will beams. "Well..." he starts, I kick him in the shin.
"Thank you!" Charlotte shouts, throwing her hands in the air.
"Urg." Dom mutters.
For the rest of the night we all laugh and joke, talk about pointless shit and smoke. This will be the last time we all get together before senior year so we made a night of it.
It's around 1:00am by the time me and Will say goodbye.
It's cold and Will gives me his jumper, even though I already have one on. We walk to my car.
We drive along for a while.
"So you talk to Fred?" He asks, flicking the car freshener.
"Sorta." I shrug.
"Was he a dick about it?"
"No. He said sorry?!"
Will laughs. "Hey it takes two to tango."
"We didn't tango, we kissed!" I defend.
"I know, I know. You still wanna save your first dance." he chuckles.
"Shut up!" I snap.
He laughs a little harder, and I refuse to talk to him.
I park up at his house.
"See ya." he says happily.
"Want time do you want me to pick you up on Monday man?!" I shout at him when he gets to his door though the open window.
"Err I donno dude, I'll call you!" he shouts back.
"Roger that!" I drive off and along the road to my house.
All the lights are off so I quietly creep up my stairs to my room. I get dressed quickly and fall asleep quickly.
Man I love my friends.
