So let's just clear this up, shall we? My name is Jaedlyn, weird right? It's pronounced Jade-Lynn, my parents just took two names, smushed them together, spelled it weird and then boom! Me. No one really calls me Jaedlyn though everyone just calls me Jae.
Anyway, now that that's all cleared up let me tell you a little bit about myself, I'm a senior at Moonview High and it's my literal hell.
I'm forced to spend six hours a day with people I couldn't care less about but I still have to pretend like I care, and I want to be there, and prove to everyone that "I'm a fun person and you should hangout with me," it's better than being alone though. I'm not an outcast, just someone that's... there. I'm average, I'm ok but not outgoing, not exceptional. The only "special" thing about me is that I have the weird combination of being a redhead without any freckles.
Any-who moving on, I had just walked into first period and walked up to my "friends" and started pretending that I cared that they had a seven hour dance practice on Saturday, it's a choice whether or not you want to go Janice. So suck it up and stop complaining, I thought to myself though I would never say it out loud, and then I suddenly got this weird prickly feeling at the back of my neck like I can tell someone's looking at me. I turn and stop dead. Standing right there is a gorgeous boy and he's looking right at me. Just calm down it's really not a big deal. I tell myself this but I still have to work to stop myself from freaking out. I blush and the extremely hot guy just gives me a smirk, he must be new, I thought. The bell rang as soon as I finished my thought and I jumped, startled and broke my gaze my hair covering my face as I hurried to my seat, head down.
As soon as I sat down I stole a glance in his direction, he was just standing there, lost. Mr. Cole then walked in, "Calix Wylde?" Oh dear god thats a hot name I thought to myself.
"Uh yeah, that's me." Hot guy/Calix answered, his voice was bordering on bored, he had this deep voice that sounded like melted chocolate if that makes any sense. He had this platinum blond hair that looked like it could've been bleached and these beautiful icy blue eyes but he was naturally extremely tan, which gave him the illusion of being exotic and rare, his being was just intoxicating to look at.
"Welcome to Moonview High, say hi to Calix class." Mr. Cole instructed us in his very teacher-ly way.
"Hi Calix." The class replied in unison everyone sounding bored and just completely done.
"Well you can sit right there next to Jae she's one of our smartest," Mr. Cole instructed. What?!? Why me? I can't handle this I'm not even that smart! WHY IS THIS MY LIFE. Calix looked unsure but he just grabbed his bag and silently slid into the chair next to me. His bag make a dull thunk noise as it hit the floor and I jumped, startled. Calix glanced at me with interest but then turned away again and just had a blank stare. Unreadable.
"Well class today you'll be working in partners the person next to you will be your partner, no switching! You'll be reading pages 125-130 and answering the questions that follow, I expect this to be done by the end of class." Mr. Cole walked around and put a packet on every other desk guess we're sharing papers then, I got a packet but Calix didn't, I have to work with him. Great.
"Well we should get working on this, we only have an hour." I said awkwardly. Calix glanced at me. Then put his elbows on the desk with his head in his hands and said,
"Sweetheart, I could give a shit about these questions and since your "one of our smartest" why don't you just do it on your own?" Calix gave me puppy dog eyes while he said it, like that's gonna help.
"Um, well how about you don't be a dick and help me? That sound good new kid?" I fired back with a sarcastic smile, I was pissed at his attitude and there was no way I was doing all of this on my own.
He paused and looked at me, he looked taken aback. Clearly no one ever talked to him like this. "Fiesty! I like it, what's your name again?" He now looked amused. I just glared back. "Come on, pretty please?"
I groaned audibly, "Jae." I said shortly.
"Well Jae lets get to work." He pushed his desk against mine and leaned over to get a good look at the paper. It's gonna be a long day.

I ended up having two more classes with the mysterious hot guy but when lunch rolled around he just sat down at a table alone and ate his lunch while pulling out a book and reading. He wasn't trying to make friends or socialize just doing his own thing.
"So, what's up with hot guy over there? I saw he was your partner during English." Gemma one of my so called friends asked nudging me.
      "I don't know his deal he's kinda a dick." I explained blatantly.
"Well he sure is hot, maybe I'll take a swing at that." Scarlet another girl in my friend group said, raising her eyebrows.
"Good luck, I've heard that he doesn't talk to anyone just sticks to himself. He's untouchable." Chloe said with a sad expression, she clearly had the hots for him.
"What do you mean? He talked to me plenty in English," and I wasn't even the usual stuff he would randomly ask me my favorite color or some weird shit like that but I didn't tell my friends that because they were already looking at me weird. "What?" I asked.
"He's staring at you." Chloe said with a frown. Sure enough when I turned around he smirked at me then went back to his book. This guys weird. Then I decided, fuck it, might as well. I got up, grabbed my stuff and walked over to where Calix was sitting.
"Hey." I said as I plopped down into the seat across from him. My friends were all shocked, jaws dropped and everything. It was pretty hilarious.
"Umm, hi?" Calix said he looked surprised to find me sitting across from him.
"You kept staring at me so I figured I might as well just come over and see what you found so interesting," I said smugly. I was proud of myself for taking the leap and sitting by him. He just stared blankly at me, eyes wide. "So? What is it?"
"I don't know I just couldn't stop looking at you, it's weird, I know." He said, looking kind of embarrassed. It was a rare emotion on him and it looked foreign to him.
"It's only weird if you pretend it didn't happen. So, mind if I sit here? You looked pretty alone." I asked with a smile.
"Nope, go ahead." He said returning the smile. God he's cute. No! Stop! I pushed those feelings back down. We spent the rest of lunch talking and getting to know each other, he was honestly a pretty cool guy. He had just moved here from Georgia, he has a twin sister, and he had just been reading poetry. Literally a perfect human. I have no idea how I'll be able to resist him.
