Chapter 7: The Proposal

"Alright, as y'all know, I've invited y'all along to make an announcement. So here it is, I came back from work the other day and I was shook. And I don't mean this in a bad way I mean in it in a good way. But anyway I got home and I got a call from my boss, and the first thing he told me was, 'Jacob, congratulations to you cause I'm giving you a promotion!'"

"Omg, already?!", Jasmine squealed

"Yeah!...", he chuckled

"Omg, congrats Jacob!!", Jasmine hugged him, happy for him

"Congratulations bro!", Rico chuckled as they hugged it out

Keegan got up and shook his hand, "Congrats Man!" And Ashante hugged him too, "Congrats babe!"

"Thing is... that's not all. I mean... Yn", he turned to Yn, "this is mostly about you. Now everybody, this woman right here is my world right? Y'all know that?"

Not only did he have his tables attention but everyone in the restaurant heads were turned to him

"Yeahh, Ofcourse, Damn right!", everybody else said over eachother

"Well Yn... baby. I want to let you know that you are my world. We've been together for what? Like 5 years, and gone strong throughout those years. Honestly those years were the best years I've ever spent with you. But I want to create more memories with you by my side. Baby I love you so much and I know you do too but there's this one question I feel I've got to ask you", he kneeled down on knee and pulled out a sterling diamond ring from his blazer pocket

Gasps from around the restaurant filled the room and so did Ashante and Jasmine. They both gasped in shock. Keegan was just sat there with his face, just as shocked as the girls and for Rico, his face, froze. He looked as if he was startled. His eyes landed straight over to Yn's as he observing her reaction

"...Yn, will you be my wife?", he asked

Yn gasped looking down at Jacob with her hands covering her mouth. Her eyebrows were high up. She was stunned when he popped the question

Yn's POV

He asked.... he asked me to be his wife?! I didn't know... I was just shocked and happy at the same time. I looked at Rico and he looked at me, with so much love, so much more to say than just a look. I didn't want to get crumble right there on the spot so I turned straight back to Jacob

"... Yes! Yess baby, I'll be your wife!"

"Yeah?!"

"Yess!!", He slid the ring on my finger and I kissed him and hugged him so tight. I lowkey cried. But that was a cry for happiness

Claps filled the room and this moment, I did NOT expect it to go like that. I saw Rico look elsewhere straight after I said yes

Everybody cheered and what not. I was just happy. I was soo happy. Stunned. Astonished. You name it, I was just all types of happy. We ended the night on a good note, we celebrated with a bottle of the most expensive champagne in the shop and everybody was happy for me especially the girls. It was well over our stay and so we decided we went our separate ways since it was really late. I said bye to everyone but didn't bother saying bye to Rico cause as far as I'm concerned I'm tired of him, quite frankly. I ain't got time to stress over people like him in my life, I'm finally engaged to my soon to be husband that I'm gonna be a wife to be as soon as so... I've got other and better stuff to worry about

Thursday Evening

Ever since that proposal I have never stopped thinking about Jacob, and how much I actually really love him. Like I never thought I would ever feel this way about a guy before... I haven't even stopped going to the gym. I've literally gone everyday non stop and that's where I'm headed now right now. I just got back from work but I need to get my body popping because when it comes to my wedding I wanna feel sexy asf and I want to look good asf! Yes I'm getting myself a body like Kim K. I joke I joke😅

I went to the gym and done like 10 workouts in an hour. I'm really seeing the results from all the hard work I've put in these past weeks. Obviously some body building fit guys were watching me from a distance. I guess they wanted a piece of this, but ain't no body giving them opportunity to approach me, the wife to be🤪

Saturday

Non stop, Jasmine has been bragging to meet up, to talk. I haven't had the time due to work and gym lately but I made the time too. I agreed to go to hers. Yes, I'm making that risky choice after last time. It's not so much of a big deal as I'm officially engaged. So after I got back home from work, I got changed and I drove to her place. I rang her door bell and thankfully she opened it

"Heeey!...", she squealed

We hugged and I went inside and into the living room. We had drinks and just talked

"So... basically, I just needed someone to talk to. I feel like everything is going downhill a little"

"Noo! Really? Why do you say that?"

"Well your life is perfect, everything is going well for you and me... It's Rico I'm worried about him"

"What? Did he do something wrong?"

"Noo... it's just that I feel like he's slowly drifting away from me. Like okay he works, but he has a few days off he doesn't work. And when he isn't working he's either just going out to do god knows what or he's staying in making time for himself. We barely talk, and if we do it's small talk. Sometimes he's not in the mood to even have SEX anymore. I mean who's ever too tired to have sex, especially him. In the beginning, everything was going great, we talked a lot more, the sex was great you know. He was an animal! Very spontaneous, different and great but now I'm losing it all"

"Well, have you tried talking to him?"

"Yn, honestly I've tried that too girl. He either just makes an excuse not to talk or he's just out the majority of the time! I'm so tired and I don't know what to do. Like I really don't know anymore, like is it me? What is it that's driving him away? I just don't get it... You know one thing that has come to my attention is he's only started acting like this since we met you and Jacob at the little cafe"

"Well you know, maybe he's just going through something. Give him time he'll come back round"

"But girl... What if he doesn't come back round?"

Just then Rico comes in, walking in on us. We paused and waited until he left the room

"Hey, baby! I brought Yn over, can you find somewhere else to be right now?"

"Bet!..."

"Bet?! I'm not one of your nigga friends, Rico!"

"Aight... I'm going. I'll be back later...", he left the house and Jasmine just sighed stressfully

"You see that, girl! That is exactly what I'm talking about"

"...Look. Don't stress yourself. He's probably just going through something. I promise he'll come round. He can never leave you, literally your really beautiful. Don't let that make you other think thing's and create bigger situations in your head than what they already appear to be. Besides I go to the gym, and I'm telling you, that is my therapy. When I'm all alone when Jacob isn't home, and I'm feeling stressed from work, I just go to the gym. You feel so much better and relieved when you've done workouts. It's like drug, but I'd really suggest you come along with me. Take your mind of things like this for a while and come and be my gym buddy!", I giggled

She laughed, "Really?"

"Yess really. You'll feel 10x lighter than you usually feel when your done. It's like a weight's being pulled off you!"

"Mm, I tried to go years ago and that didn't work out too well. Maybe I'll come along and give it another go, now that I have a partner"

I squealed jumping up and down in my seat, "Eeee alright. So recently I've been going everyday. Can you deal with that routine?"

"Whatever it is, as long as I don't have to put up with Rico and his grumpyness then yeahh!", she chuckled

"Good well. I'm going around 8 so I'll pick you up tomorrow after work..."

"Yeahh... that's great", she smiled

"Good!", we both laughed

We spent the rest of the evening drinking watching Girls trip. It was too funny, these girls are too wild😂😂. Reminds me of how wild I was when I was younger
