DAISY COULD COUNT ON her fingers the times everything seemed to be going her way. and that night definitely wasn't one of those times. she glared at the front door of david's house from the driver seat in her car. natalie, the devil herself, had promised daisy that no one was around that night and that the coast would be clear for her to pick up her shoes . . . little did daisy know, this was natalie lying to her, because she couldn't stand the argument going on between david and daisy. david had been extra bitchy and annoying to anyone the past few weeks without any form of contact with daisy.

but daisy ernst was no loser. she would never back down and she knew that natalie definitely knew that her car was neatly parked along the expensive cars in the driveway. the expensive cars giving daisy a slight idea of who she should be expecting from the inside . . . and it sure wasn't anyone daisy wanted to see. ever. but as said before, she was no loser and would just have to suck it up and walk in to get the shoes she desperately wanted. did she really need those shoes? no, but the stubborn taurus in her was coming off strong and she was going to walk in, get her shoes and walk out. and maybe ask dom if he had any weed to spare, that felt right in this moment.

taking a deep breath in before walking to the front door, not even bothering to knock, she never knocked anyway. daisy walked into the living room to see it filled with people—ranging from zane to the instagram models . . . to david sitting on the lovesac with his hand playing with the strands of kelsey's hair, who was most definitely sat in his lap. it was as if she was insecure of their relationship, because she had to be touching him at all times. but daisy couldn't care less—a lie. her blue eyes searched the mass of people for a smirking natalie sat next to jeff and she squinted her eyes at the older chicagoan girl. everyone had gone silent with her entrance.

" sorry to show up unannounced, but natalie and i have some business, " she informs the crowd, who was practically gaping at her. daisy completely disregarded the fact that nobody in that room had seen her since the kickback in the same house, which she left with tears streaming down her face.

" daisy? " zane asks all confused, before blinking a few times and standing up. he walks to daisy, who's face softens at the sight of someone she calls her best friend. zane squints his eyes at the girl, " you dumb bitch, never leave me without calling again. "

with that, zane's arms are wrapping around daisy and squeezing her into a death trap of a hug. she smiles slightly, before remembering that she had to have her touch facade on, because she was not only annoyed with natalie for lying to her but hadn't spoken a word to david since their argument. which necessarily didn't end poorly, but it didn't end well either. and david hadn't tried to contact her either . . . so why would she have to be all civil and mature in this scenario? he was the older one anyway.

" i want a hug too! "  carly squeals and jumps up from the couch to give daisy a hug, which she unsurprisingly reciprocates, because she loves carly.  " i've missed you, little d. life back here hasn't been the same without you messing about. "

" how was mexico? "   jeff speaks up from the couch and daisy smiles at him. jeff was always super  nice to her, even if they hadn't known each other that long.
