                      DAISY AND DAVID COULD not stop grinning at each other. they hadn't moved away from the kitchen, away from each other in a while now. his lips close to her temple, whispering something about how he didn't think he would've had the guts to do that. but daisy correcting him by saying that he still didn't have the guts, because she had the guts to do the first move.

         " do you also find it slightly weird how there is literally no one interrupting us? "     david mumbles, brows furrowing at the realisation and he pulls away from the close proximity.  he continues following the curious expression on daisy's face,  " not that i would want anyone to interrupt us . . . it's just that our friend group is just– "

         " our friend group is more than likely to interrupt us, "   daisy finishes his sentence and he grins at her,   " and i will have you know that i do think something is up too. zane is drunk off his ass outside and i can just see jeff sitting on him, like he's restraining him from going somewhere. "

she goes to points outside, where her eyes had been focused on for a solid minute now. something she can't comprehend how weird her friends were. there was an extremely drunken zane underneath an extremely sober jeff, who was laughing manically. but boy, did she love her friends

      " that can also be contributed to the fact that zane has a tendency to run away, "  he points out and takes in the scent of daisy. today she smelt of peaches and vanilla, possibly some new body wash she had. he runs his hand through his hair that daisy had had her fingers interlocked in.

     " well . . . "   daisy laughs awkwardly, realising the situation now. she swore that the kiss had sobered her up better than a cold shower and some advil could ever; this changed everything. she had just kissed her best friend, holy hell. but she was definitely not complaining.

    " who cares about them? "  david says turning around from the window with a mischievous smirk, his hand going to daisy's waist.   " i think we had better things to do anyway. "

     " oh we do now? "   she smiles up at him and her hands find their way behind his neck. the way she did it felt like they had done this more than once before, like this was something they did on the regular. all of the nerves and awkward feelings that had been swirling through her head were long gone by now.

     " mm, we sure do, "   and with those words, david's arms not only wrap around her waist tighter, but they lift her to sit on the kitchen counter. he fits between her legs perfectly and their faces are now inching closer to one another.

he can smell the raspberry gum on her breath. the same gum she always chews and raves about. all he wants to do is to taste it again; in fact, he doesn't think he ever wants to taste anything else in his life. the raspberry gum on her tongue mixed with corona for earlier seemed to be the most heavenly taste he had ever tasted. and he doesn't think he could ever get enough of it. not tasting made his heart ache and he couldn't wait any longer, pressing his soft lips onto hers like they were meant to be there. but that is where they were meant to be. or at least that's what he thinks.
