~Y/N's Younger Self Pov~

I was running full speed ahead towards the front doors of the school. At this rate, I didn't care who I accidently pushed, all I cared about was not being late.

Usually I'm a good student, but obviously today something was wrong.

That something, was the fact my dog didn't want to eat her food and go to the bathroom. She just whined at me all morning, so I played with her for a half hour, forgetting I had school.

I quickly sat down in my seat just as the bell rings and sighed, my whole body now aching from the extreme running that I normally don't do.

"Morning class, please pull out a pen or pencil. Today is the chapter 6 assessment." My math teacher said. Shit, I didn't get time to study.

I was about ready to break down in tears, today was just not going my way...

I felt someone rest their hand on my back and I immediately shivered.

"Don't worry, we'll do well." Ein... his smile was comforting.

"Thanks Ein..." I smiled a little and he grabbed his pencil out.

"Mind if I borrow your pencil sharpener?" His tail wags a little and I nod, handing it over to him.

"Anytime..." I smiled.

"Thanks Y/N..."

I felt a little blush creeping across my face and I look away to make sure he doesn't notice.

At lunch, I sat down by the fountain and chewed at the breading of my sandwich.

"As dry as always, I really need to switch it up again." I shuffled the remainder of the sandwich away and grabbed out something else to eat.

"Hey..." I watched as Ein sat himself down next to me.

"What's up?"

"I have a question for you actually..." He smiled slightly and I nodded.

"Go on..."

"Is there anybody you like here at school, like romantically?"

I shrug. "I've never been in love really..."

"Neither have I..." He laughs a little and swings his legs back and forth, obviously a little nervous.

"Is that it?" I asked.

"...Actually yeah..." He leaned over to see what I had for lunch.

"Want a mini cake?"

"Really?! Yeah!" I handed him one and he snagged it quickly from my hand, his tail happily pounding against the ground. "Thank you so much!" He began to dig into his hot lunch.

"Your welcome... bubby."

He turned to me and began to laugh happily. I'll never forget the way he smiled that moment, it was so bright and warming...

~Y/N's Pov~

I woke up in a sweat and quickly began to panic. Where in the actual hell am I? A little shuffle next to me made me spin around. There, I saw Ein's sprawled out body on the bed. Right... I'm at his cabin.

"Well thanks for no bed space..." I whispered to myself.

He groaned a little and rolled over, taking all the blankets with him. I poked his ears, making the twitch irritated.

"Mmm... Its too bright." He sounds slightly annoyed and he covers his face.

"Alright vampire." I giggle a little, then cover my mouth and groan at my own giggle I made.

"Y-Y/N! You're still here!" He jumps slightly and rolls to face me. "Sorry sorry..." He then fixes the blankets, making sure I'm also warm.

"You're in a panic." I laugh slightly and he looks at me, slightly embarrassed.

"No! I just thought... you'd leave me when you were done helping me."

I shake my head no. "Of course not, I'm not that mean."

"Right... I'll get something fixed up for breakfast." He slowly gets off the bed, trying to not hurt himself and turns to face me. "Could you help me with a few things?"

"S-Sure..." I felt my face warming up, surely because he was standing there without a shirt. "A-Anyways..."

He scratches his head slightly, trying to figure out the situation. When he did, he smirked a little. "Somedays I realize how much your still not a tomboy."

"S-Shut up!" I squeaked out.

"Sorry sorry, I just wanted to say it." He reaches down and grabs my hand, which my immediate response was to growl. "What did I do to- oh right." He laughs.

"Right... Now what are we making for breakfast?" I tried to pull away, but he keeps a tight grip.

"Pancakes with carob chips?"

"Sounds good." I smile a little and he begins to walk us in the direction of the kitchen.

I begin to search around for some supplies when I end up at the high cupboards. I try to reach, and since I'm a short person and I struggle to even reach to the top of the microwave.

(Unfortunately in real life, I'm 5"3'.)

"Need some help?" He chuckled slightly and pulled me away so he could reach the cupboard.

"Thanks."

"Anytime..." He sets down a box of pancake mix and looks at me. "Do you think you could make the pancakes for me? I... usually burn them." He laughs nervously.

"I guess I'll try..." I take the mix and begin to whip up the mixture with the other supplies Ein had got out.

Finally, the pancakes were done. I set them on the table and sat down in a chair, already reaching to set one down on the table.

"Thanks again." He grabbed a few for himself and smiled slightly.

"No problem..." I said, my words slightly muffled as I talked while chewing.

I looked at him and he was staring at me, a wide smile planted across his face. "Could I show you something cool later on?"

"Where?"

"Just in the basement, I promise it's nothing that'll hurt you."

I nod. "Sure I guess..."

He scoots his chair closer to mine and hugs me gently, his hair brushing against my face and ears.

"Bubby thanks you for that... He likes you more then before..." He laughs a little and I see the same face as I remember back in high school.

He changed... But he has some old personality beginning to seep back through...

He's so strange...
